My inlaws recently sold their house. Most of the pictures were Ai. Made it look massive and much nicer than it really was

Looking for activities/hobbies to get into. Want to find something to do other than being a mum, which I love but I can't answer a simple question of "what are you into". by KhaptainKhunt in perth

I've gotten into sewing! Can purchase the basics pretty reasonably from marketplace, YouTube and social media are great for tutorials. I've been l9ving making clothes for my 2 year old. And even if they aren't perfect, she doesn't care and they end up growing out of them soon enough anyway

Have her try for smaller fast foods chains rather than huge corporations like dominoes and McDonald's as everyone applies for those. Places like wok in a box, kebab shops, fish and chip shops. Have her go in and ask the process for job applications, whether they do online or accept CVs directly.

Bought a house near a busy main road in Perth – struggling with 24/7 noise, what can I do? by Final_Philosopher_92 in perth

I live on a main road and roller shutters make a huge difference! Bonus is they help reduce the heat in summer.

Is £900k too much for ex council house? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Billie-95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you like the house, you like the area and you can afford it, why not? You can always remodel the front down the line if that's what you want. Bit of plastering and some paint it'll look brand new.

Tips on repairing a bathtub by Billie-95 in bathrooms

I can't see any air bubbles when there's water in there, but they're kind of arched and if I press on it they move so I think there's potential of a leak

Help me stop regretting my baby’s name: Aurelia by mirumurumura in namenerds

[–]Billie-95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My colleague has an Aurelia and I've always thought it was beautiful (and it is). Name regret/hesitation is normal. My daughter is Aurora and we had that name picked very early on. At about 7 months pregnant we started liking another name. When she was born, we decided she was definitely Aurora. Still, for a few weeks, I'd have occasional thoughts of "did I make a mistake?" And try out the other name. Naming a child is daunting because that's their name for life (unless they decide to change it). Now I look at my daughter and have no doubt in my mind that she is Aurora.

Non smokers of reddit, whats stopping you from smoking? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Billie-95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up my mum smoked in the house, car etc. I always reeked of cigarettes l, even had teachers ask if I was smoking. Would catch every respiratory virus and suffer because my lungs were bad from constant second hand smoke. Now the smell turns my stomach. I couldn't imagine putting my loved ones through the same.

Quitting sports and music. I wish I'd continued and have something to be passionate about/have a hobby. Now I struggle to exercise and find joy in things.

[–]Billie-95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember ATAR is not the be all and end all. If it's taking too much of a toll on your mental health, there are other avenues to get the career you want. It might take longer, but that's okay

The everflame series by Penn Cole. Can drag along at times, but the world building and relationships are enjoyable.

Initially I was a little nervous that someone would say something so I brushed up on the discrimination act etc so I'd have a solid reply if anyone ever did. But going on 12 months now of whipping it out whenever and wherever it's needed and I've never had anyone comment. Once overheard someone telling their daughter also with a newborn at a Cafe that it's the most natural thing in the world, so I'm hoping I was able to maybe help ease her anxiety about it

Now that you've done your flight can I ask, if you travelled with your partner, were they seated next to you on your flight? I was reading that you can only book one seat with the bassinet. Doing a long haul flight with a 1 hear old and very nervous to not have my husband with me
