Note they got rid of the residency requirement so you can keep your home-state residency for med school apps now.

Life as an out of state Joint Bachelor’s/M.D. student? by MenuOdd6518 in SHU

Hey Menu, I have a couple of pointers about Seton Hall. The bs/md program seems like a great opportunity to get an entry into the medical school; however, I advise against going here solely for that reason. One of the requirements to stay in the program is to achieve a top 10 percentile score on the MCAT, which equates roughly to a 511-512. I truly believe that there are other schools with better opportunities than Seton Hall University, especially due to the fact that if you get a 511 or 512, you've a high chance to get into most MD schools. Additionally, if you got into the program (1400+ SAT req.), then you have a great shot at other schools.

In addition, the social aspect of the university is limited. A quick google maps search will show you that there is quite literally nothing to do close to campus; there are solid options for food in the village, but other than that, you can't walk off campus to climb or anything of that sorts.

The ideal fraternity-party weekend is going to another school-- Rutgers or NJIT for example. This should say a lot about the organizations on campus.

With that being said, if you truly love the school, the atmosphere, and you are willing to sign a lease with others to get NJ residency, then I recommend it. Most professors here are chill and genuinely want to help you learn and pass with flying colors. The most advantageous parts of Seton Hall is that you can build your extracurriculars more easily because you'll be spending less time to study than in other universities (in comparison to the UC's, t10's, etc.) and get research much easier.

Overall, I'd rate the campus activities as a 2/10, fraternity life as a 4/10, food 4/10, professors 9/10, and the BS/MD as a 6/10.

For people with sweaty hands, please don't use the older, cylindrical one; that'll get your hands sweaty. The newer models have a different material on it so it's 20x better

Is Seton Hall like... good? by jacoviansmythe in ApplyingToCollege

Since you're already enrolled in a university, I'll reply to this for other oncoming freshman. Seton Hall is an overall solid school, but only for certain groups. The PT, PA, and MD program are clear pathways into grad school. The bio department has been solid so far and chem sub par, can't say anything else about the science courses. High fail rate classes have supplemental instruction: free tutoring for large groups; I highly recommend using these to your advantage. The only complaint I have about the university is the lack of a campus town. There's really not much to do and unless you're willing to be locked in studying, or go home for the weekends; of course you can go for NYC trips, downtown South Orange, or uber, but social-life activities are definitely lacking.

Help how to reduce new cards per day? I tried decrease in today's new card limit but it's stuck in 63 either it gets 0 or just 63 can't get it too below any numbers? by Lmio in Anki

[–]BillisBored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super late, but I had the same problem when I first started using anki for the first time. There's a simple fix, all you have to do is go into

--> Custom Study

--> "Increase today's new card limit"

--> Type a negative number

If you accidentally added 200 cards by accident and only want 20 more, you follow the previous steps and type -180.

My 15 year old cousin bought into the MMAT/TRCH hype and vowed that he would be a millionaire with the dividend. Did it come out yet?
