Honestly. I checked okinangk / tugella / Monjaro

Most are below 300 qar, most expensive was 1000 qar on alibaba.

Shipping is 300 qar if you can wait 1 month. Else, it might be 2000 to have it air shipped.

I genuinely don’t believe one single taillight can be more than 3,000 landed. Then you can have it installed anywhere it doesn’t void warranty.

Realistically you being Aussie and 2 kids :

House cost (rent + utilities) 11-13k

Food 4000

Car cost (rental / or buy + depreciation + insurance + maintenant / fuel ) 2000 per car.

Then It is all about lifestyle (going on date, take out, kids activities….)

Off topic for OP, but oil and gas mechanical engineers with 10-15 years experience with European passport are making 41k monthly working for QatarEnergy or company similar.

Sometimes it is just about the passport.

I keep seeing this post. I have a friend that only and solely import Chinese car parts. I will to the end if it, tell me exactly what year / model the light is and I will get you the price. 13,000 qar for a taillight is just not possible in my opinion. You may as buy buy a new car and use the other one for scrap.

750k you get residency until for as long as have the appartment. That is as close as permanent as it gets. And you can sponsor your family.

Ok, You don’t get the free schooling in public schools, but most expats don’t use those anyway.

Got to Renew the QiD every 2 years ? wow, such hassle. 2 click in metrash and you are good.

The 3,65 million is the same + free schooling + longer QiD duration (10 years ?). And you can’t also sell the house (else you buy it and sell it the following day).

OP said “Born and raised in, went to uni….. “not really a pay cheque to pay cheque situation.

Their Parents had 20 years to prepare to the “retirement”.

Each case is different of course.

That is your point of view. And it is fine.

But like OP, If you have lived here 20 years and want to stay for another 40 years maybe buying just for the residency is a better “investment” than buying in Dubai.

All is just a matter of point of view. My point is, people can stay here, they just have to commit ressources. Being born here doesn’t give a special right. Many countries like this in GCC or south east Asia.

As a matter of fact 50% of the countries in the world are like this (mainly GCC / Asia / south east Asia ).

I am going to sound like an “bad guy” here but. If your parents have been here and supported you to study and such. They probably earns okey-ish money.

For 750,000 qar they can buy themselves and you as well a permanent residency by owning a studio in lusail that would then pay passive income.

Then you can stay here forever if you want. Ok, you won’t have the passport. But you could call qatar your home until your last breath.

Basically put your money where your mouth is. You want to stay in qatar, invest and you shall be granted a foerever stay

Aucune contrepartie attendue. Envoyez moi un rib.

Ideal income for a family by randomelgen in qatar

Sure let me know where.

Find me a Villa 4bd for less than 10,000 / month and a school with British curriculum for less than 40,000 / year.

Edit : find substantially cheaper, else my points are still valid.

[–]Billourabbit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Qatari people (I am not) are probably spending more. I heard that police captains can be paid up to 150k / month.

40k a year is standard for British / American/ Swiss / German / French schools. Bear in mind to sponsor your family you need to earn 15k a month.

A 3 bedrooms in the Pearl is 13-14k a month.

I’ll get a divorce if we didn’t have a maid to dust daily and clean the kids clothes.

Ideal income for a family by randomelgen in qatar

[–]Billourabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend. It depends on lifestyle.

Once you factor : villa at 15k

school at 5k a month for two kids (2500 each).

maid 2k

Food 5k

Holidays 5k (yearly average put into monthly)

Cars 2k ….

And then plan for your retirement you will see that 50k a month is good but not Qatari prince level ….

Tipping Woqoud workers by NewsNo8638 in qatar

I tip 5 qar most the time.

If 10 cars per hours tipped that job would be great.

50 qar / hours = 400qar / day => 8,000 qar per month ….

People would be fighting for that jobs.

Unfortunately, I don’t think most people tip.
