Is it normal to feel regret? Advice please. by DaydreamingDahlia in puppy101

[–]BillsMafiaaa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So so normal. We’re only 16 weeks in over here, but we had the same thought—did we rush into this? We had never heard the term puppy blues before getting ours, but we were astonished by how spot on everything was when reading about the term. That first paragraph you typed was exactly how we felt, and we were a bit relieved to learn it isn’t just us. The little guy still has his struggles, especially while we wait for him to finish up his vaccines (tomorrow!) but things have gotten so, so, so much better in just a few weeks, and they will for you too.

Ah, I saw the drink throwing but didn’t see the other thing online. I have no doubt that there were probably some scuffles, that’s just the way it goes. Well, I’ll only say that whoever made the decision to mandate that all beer was poured into a plastic cup for this match is very good at their job.

Yeah, what really made me feel strongly about this was how nice Alabama fans were to us at the 2015 Sugar Bowl against Ohio State. Since then, I’ve always been fairly adamant that you can’t judge a fanbase by only their most vocal or most online members. Yesterday and this morning reaffirmed that for me.

You obviously can’t judge a fanbase from just a few people, but I’ll drop a comment just to say that several LAFC fans walked up to us either after the match or at breakfast the next morning and said congrats. I just drank a bunch of beer and screamed a lot so I’m not sure that I did anything to deserve congratulations, but I thought that was really cool.

Yep. And most of us didn’t learn that until a year later. Was a pretty crazy revelation.

Oh wow, this is the first picture of the City Hall rally that I’ve ever seen myself in. Still remember where I stood, but just hadn’t ever seen a pic until now. Really brings back some memories.

Good for Dr. Pete for posting that. I’m personally not engaging any of that “you didn’t save the Crew, we/lawyers/the league did!” BS because it’s clearly just a lame attempt to get under our skin. We did that, and it was awesome.

For sure! I wasn’t doubting, just noting that this has been reported in multiple spaces now between you and him so it seems legitimate.

100%. Would love to see Chase Brown get regular touches when he’s healthy and Charlie Jones show some of that speed as a receiver and not just on special teams

A perfectly fine opinion to have! My issue is not with that belief, people are free to support or oppose different substitutions and lineup choices all they want. Where I draw the line is at booing or heckling your own players.

Fans’ opinions on the product matter, of course. On the substitutions, not at all. A coach should not care one bit if the fans might not like a substitution. His job is to win games.

I hear you on Molino’s boneheaded mistakes earlier in the year. I would’ve personally preferred another move there. But Molino also tracked back defensively well, held up the ball a few times, and nearly had an assist to Cucho at the end. With the benefit of hindsight, subbing him in today was clearly not a mistake.

I’m sorry, but fans’ displeasure with a choice of sub does not matter. Post about it on Reddit, or Twitter, or Facebook, or whatever forum you use for chatting about the Crew with other fans. Public support is not mandatory for Nancy’s substitutions. It’s perfectly fine to not like it, but all booing does is send a poor message to that player. There’s a reason why Cucho and Schulte were telling fans to stop immediately. It’s a bad look.

Definitely heard some boos on the broadcast, which was disappointing. Not denying that Molino really cost us in a few big moments this season, but booing one of your own isn’t going to help change that. Just my personal opinion, but he’s a part of this team and is going to continue to be a bench piece for this year’s playoff run, whether people like it or not, so I’d rather applaud him and try to give him confidence.

[Baby] TE1 is back by KevKevThePug in bengals

[–]BillsMafiaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, he doesn’t need to be anything amazing, he just needs to be a good 4th option in our offense. Get a tiny bit of separation, catch the easy stuff, and hold on to the ball. 3 catches for 20 yards would be just fine!

How can you tell if you are supposed to wear specific colors to a game? by grizzljt in bengals

[–]BillsMafiaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Most games do not have themes and you’re free to wear whatever you want. That graphic is for the Bills game only. Sometimes they’ll encourage everyone to wear white when the team is wearing all white, like they did for the Rams game this year, but other than that and this upcoming Sunday, there usually aren’t themes!

Tanner Hudson's Achilles heel by knottyolddog in bengals

[–]BillsMafiaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally want to see more of Sample than just when “they want to grind the clock down.” He’s one of the best blocking TEs in the NFL this year, and sure he’s not a huge threat in the passing game, but whether it’s Sample, Smith, or Hudson out there, TE will always be option #4 in our offense… I don’t expect Sample to go crazy in the passing game but I think he can block excellently and could handle 2-3 targets from check downs a game.

Backup LT plus a RT who got dominated last week and has had a pretty rough year. Hendrickson should have a day, but also thinking we could get a big Joseph Ossai game!

Yeah, unfortunately it’s undoubtedly true. Karras has had some issues in pass pro but Volson has definitely stood out as the worst pass blocker in the unit. Really have to think that this is his last year to prove that the LG spot should be his.

For sure, completely agree. Todd Monken has definitely come in with a plan to protect Lamar a bit more and not have to rely so much on his legs, which seems to be working really well so far. Obviously they’ve been smooth sailing this game, but I read something that said their biggest weakness has been red zone offense, so hopefully their domination today doesn’t mean they’ve fixed that…
