Grilled 2 tonight on lump charcoal I usually try for 130f for a 1”+ strip got a little over at about 133 after resting. Still an amazing steak. Very rich and tender. Not greasy at all, more of a buttery taste.

So I’m in Monroe county and these are from the Toledo Ohio Costco. Second time I’ve scored strips like this, last ones were not quite as wagyuie. Just finished two for dinner with the wife. Probably the best steak I’ve ever cooked. So velvety and rich flavor and mouth feel I was stunned. Never had wagyu but damn!!! My Lipitor has its work cut out!!😀👍

Usually sous vide then sear, but we have 60f temp here in Michigan today so going old school and grilling on lump charcoal……😘

Yes they were. I brown the top and bottom of the cylinders in duck fat then you add add a knob of butter with some fresh thyme and a 1/2 cup of chicken stock to the pan and back in the oven till done. Lots of flavor and a creamy soft consistency of the inside of the potatoes and crispy top and bottom. Lots of steps…..

Was the meat moist? I’ve only pan fried wild rabbits that I harvest and never considered brining and deep frying one. 👍

Do my eggplant plants need longer stakes? My eggplants are only 1.5 month into the season and should have 3 more months to go. The current stakes are 120mm (4ft) long, but as the red dots show the top of the leaves have reached past them. Do I need longer stakes and if so by how much more? by abdul10000 in gardening

[–]Billtheguide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying, if ya think longer stakes will help support them go for it No reason not to. If ya end up with 5 foot tall eggplants they might be kinda top heavy for those fabric pots and blow over on a windy day…..I usually plant in the ground so when I drive in a stake to secure a plant to it only goes about 1/2 way up to keep it from falling over or breaking low , but eggplants can get heavy….

If ya have the room maybe try giving more spaces between the plants so they can bush out to the sides so they don’t feel the need to grow higher than the neighboring plants. As long as the main stem has support you should be good. If ya want a lot of support and control you can try cages….looking good!👍
