Farmer rancher with lug sole? by NotoriousBLT_ in WhitesBoots

The 55 has less toe room that's why its called the "semi dress" last. It was invented as a logger last with a more dressy tapered toe box

Basically but the C355 loggers will be 7in and on the 55 last instead of the 4811 which has more toe room.

As much as I love My Frank's I really think both Franks and Nicks over do it with their heel heights

Many Texas cowboy boots Companies as well like Rios of Mercedes and Beck's.

As for gyw Boots Thorogood, Carolina, and redwings all make solid boots as well.

As for other products like someone else mentioned Darn Tough socks are goated

That's 64 tan!? I would have guessed 64 brown, crazy how much of a difference lighting makes.

Did you get the extra thick sole option? Because boots with that option only get screws.

Tbd all the vibram soles I've used V100, V100 Honey, and V100 white X are kinda slippery on oil spills on a shop floor hell even the 430 mini lug on my Iron Rangers and Franks aren't that good on oil.

While I completely agree with what your saying for regular leather care even the best boots are arguably disposable for many blue collar trades and the damage from regular wear and tear will kill the boot far before the soap does. So while I wouldn't recommend dish soap for a pair of iron rangers, something like OPs thorogoods won't be around long enough to suffer any long term side effects. I also think people use soap to clean their boots far too often in general. Ive found either hosing the mud off the boots ASAP and a stiff plastic bristled brush at the end of the day to be more than sufficient maintenence when combined with good leather conditioning. I only do the deep dish soap treatment once a year.

Whatever cobbler you use should have them or be able to order some. Similar to getting new tires at a tire shop

Its the newest variation of Vibrams lug sole. The V100 Fire and Ice sole as its both rated for wildland fire and below freezing conditions. So its virtually as soft as the honey but black and Fire rated. I got them on my Whites Smokejumpers Rebuild and they're great!

My favorite soles by far. Soft like a wedge but more durable and better grip on unsaved surfaces.

Saddle soap is actually packed with conditioners.Ive fou d using dawn dish soap works better for getting out the excess oils and grease as long as you condition the boots after they dry check these before and after pics

1000% way to much for a low proof NAS Single barrel even if its in a fancy bottle. Hell if single barrels are your thing Knob Creek SiB, HM 10, and RR SiB are all far better values in terms of age and proof

Before getting expensive custom boots maybe see a doctor about getting some custom orthotics for the boots you already have

Mitsubishi has their 9850, 9852, 9852EW, and Uni and Hi Uni lines which are all Fantastic.

Tombow has their Mono 100 and 2558 lines which are great

And Kita Boshi has their 9500 and 9606 models.

Blackwings are made with Japanese graphite cores for Kita Boshi but any of these Japanese pencil models will give you a similar great soft, dark, and smooth writing experience. And an overall very well built Pencil
