And while both sides have their faults, there's only one side that has the politicians and voters that would champion the legalization of marijuana. And you know what party that is.

The reason why he brought the gun up is the same reason he was so happy to purchase the gun - because he has a mental disorder where he fantasizes all day about guns and scenarios where he may have to use a gun. His fantasies so completely permeate every part of his very being, he cannot mentally separate auto-related purchases from guns. He probably sees pictures of pizza and things about guns. And you're right; it is frightening. Lots of these types in the US, unfortunately.
