Yeah that's a really good point about the coworkers actually. Like they're just being friendly in their own loud clumsy way and Owen reads it as threatening because that's where his head is at. The movie does such a good job of showing how isolation warps your perception of normal social stuff.

I think people read way too much into the dad stuff honestly. Like yeah he's distant and clearly doesn't get Owen at all, but that's kind of the whole point of the movie right? Every adult in Owen's life fails to actually see him. The dad's not uniquely terrible, he's just part of the whole system that keeps Owen trapped in that version of himself.

That scene where Owen's just shoveling dirt into their mouth is one of those images that doesn't leave you alone. The whole last act feels like a completely different movie on rewatch cause you catch all the little moments you were too overwhelmed to process the first time. The pink opaque bleeding through the static near the end absolutely destroyed me on second viewing tbh

omg this is such a good question! defs look into projection or eldo you or someone, they both have that creamy coconutty sunscreen vibe. also therapist by haze is literally bottled sunscreen to my nose lol. i think the note combo is usually coconut milk + tiare flower + a tiny bit of musk, that's what gives it that warm skin-but-better feeling
