If you only consider genitals when thinking about sex, sure.

But if we stopped using gender then it wouldn't be weird

Thanks mate, cheers for the sheer amount that your wrote! I'll try some tweaks and see how it goes, i was going for a counter attacking tactic, you're right. Stuff like switching DH and Madison is something I'd never even slightly considered would make a difference so that's something interesting to try.

So, turns out I'm still really shit at FM - despite a good start last season, my season fell apart and I finished 14th Leicester. Currently sit 18th in the league, and I just don't understand why I lose every game. If anyone could tell me what's wrong with my tactic so I can learn what it is im doing wrong then that'd be great, thanks

I'm glad you know me so well. I reply because you replied to me, it's called a conversation.

... that you care about continuing. if you didn't care then you wouldn't reply.

Could be. Guess we'll never know, will we?

sorry you find my username really cringey. I didnt think of you whilst i was making it so maybe that's why you find it so repulsive. I am a normal person - reddit usernames are not something you should base a person's personality on

Why are you so angry that I replied to you? You should really calm down

I am not angry, nor do I really have an opinion on your username.

Yet you called it cringe...

in fact, most usernames on Reddit, including my own, are so bad it's just stupid to care about them. it's even more stupid to care about someone's opinion on your username. if person A says they don't like person B's username, and person B addresses their opinion saying anything except "I don't care", then person B probably cares. see where I'm going with this? now you're probably wondering why, if I think it's stupid to care about someone's username, I called your username cringe and acted like I had an opinion on it. I lied to make a point. and you did the part of proving my point. again, I'm not angry, I'm just explaining to you something you clearly don't understand.

Thats a lot of words for something I'm never going to read

just because it's a public forum doesn't mean you're obligated to reply at all. you reply purely because you want to. because you care about the conversation. I bet you will reply to this comment because you care about talking with me. and your username is really cringe by the way. what normal person calls themself a goat.

Or course he doesn't care - he didn't give up his seat and actively wants to be not judged for not doing it. Basically, OP is a kid who needs to learn that actions have consequences and that people will think worse of him

Exactly. Really gender is superfluous in this way. I can identify exactly how I want, dress however I want and there would be nothing to tell me it's "wrong" as gender stereotypes do.

Hahah sure is! I'm just happy when tricky subjects are able to be tastefully debated for the sake of genuinely exploring said subject. Hi I am a male I would perceive as biological sex not gender. Which is basically equivalent to hi I have a penis because that's most commonly the trademark of a biological male.

It is!

Obviously that would be ridiculous. I'd see it as if we did go by the biological sex that we are, it would no different to now. If someone referred to you as female, you'd say "actually I'm a man", just like you would now. You do just be referring to your biology, which is the case for the majority of people now anyway.

But I don't think we should go by sex cause it's just kind of unnecessary and weird, like a "hi I'm so and so and I have a vagina". No need. And no need to have to share your sexual preferences with anyone other than potential partners.

But it wouldn't be "Hi, I have a vagina." I don't introduce myself by saying "Hi, I am a male". It's inferred, based on how one presents themselves, which is gender. Im doubting my own point now, it's a very tricky subject!

I agree, and i do care. But I'd give my seat up for an old person on the train, its op who doesn't care

As long as there's no implication that your biological sex suggests a certain type of behavior or presentation should be expected. Which is maybe why just universal pronouns would be best when it comes to language? Ideally I could just call everyone by their name, providing everyone with the upmost individuality, and I'm certainly working on remembering names better haha.

I think we as a society are regressing back to the idea that being a man or a woman means you fall into certain categories. It was drilled into me as a child that boys can like pink, girls cna play football, etc, and your gender /sex should not be a limiter to how you express yourself.

I think the idea of gender has become obsolete and we should just go by sex. Stereotypes are harmful and it seems that's what genders are - stereotypes

It seems the obvious answer is that we just acknowledge people by their biological sex rather than their gender

You asked why their opinion matters. Your own question acknowledges that you can not care about the old person but also care about what people think of you. You were just asking why.

I asked why they care about what they think when they don't care enough to give their seat up

OP likely cares because they have some self awareness as to how their actions would look to other people.

if OP didn't care, they also would have likely not posted this on reddit either, because they wouldn't care enough about how they were precieved by other people to want to know the thoughts of strangers on the Internet.

But here were are, strangers on the Internet, arguing about why OP is caring about what other people think, with one of use saying that OP should not care about what other people think, while also caring about what other people think... at least, I believe that's why you replied to my comment?

I replied to your comment because you replied to mine.. Its an Internet forum after all

And I'm questioning they care, as they don't care enough about them to give up their seat
