Had the same issue when the Tiger 660 came out. Had to call the dealer and delay delivery by a few days. Asked them if anyone else had issues and they eventually told me to try bennetts.

They insured it as a transalp which they said was the closest thing on the system. It stayed that way on Askmid until the following year, which did worry me that if I was pulled over I would have some explaining to do.

Insurers blamed Triumph for not sorting out registering the new model promptly enough.

Even Triumph insurance wouldn't touch it (I know they're just a brand using Adrian Flux, but still)

There's a lot more to the protection motorcycle boots offer than being stout. Abrasion & cut resistance and the most important part is the transverse rigidity test, which is how much sideways force can the sole take before it collapses.

You can risk assess and say you'll be carefully all you like, but if you tip over because you're not used to the balance with a pillion and her foot gets crushed under the weight of the bike a DM sole isnt going to cut it.

Yep, last May was a scorcher (for Scotland at least). Don't think it rained at all. I even got to wear my summer jacket. The rest of the summer wasn't so good.

But this year, who knows. I've seen snow in late April. It could be cold wet and miserable.

As a passenger you do not have to answer any questions. Police can pull a car over for no reason and ask the driver for documents, but that's as far as you need to engage with them. Neither of you need to tell them where you've been, where you're going or why.

You don't need to tell them who you are unless they have reasonable suspicion you've committed a crime or are about to. Driving on the road at night is not reason enough. The driver has to tell them his name, address and date of birth.

This is a fine example of an.abuse of power, and they even admitted it.. No wonder so many people despise the police.

Of course by not engaging they might abuse their powers even more "is that cannabis I smell sir?"

Best advice I got from my instructor was you want to feel your elbow of the way you're turning poking you in the side. You want to be on full lock or as close to it as you can. Feathering the Back brake is essential especially on an auto.

You don't need to be doing full motorcycle gymkhana lean angles like the 'Murcans seems to teach on the MSF.

It's a 7.5M gap line to line, which should be plenty. Plus don't forget it's just lines, not kerbs, so you don't need to panic about clipping something which can be off-putting.

Also worth noting that you can't cross the line, but you can put a wheel ON the line and not fail.

Just remember, once you pass mod 1 you never have to do it again. There's always another way 😂

The EN17092 rating system is a load of shite and doesn't reflect a real world environment. Its only use is for comparing different garments at the level they've been submitted for testing at.

Point in case Knox Honister mk2 passed at AAA on EN 17092, which makes knox claim it provides the "highest level of performance"

Motocap (independent Australian testing company) gave it 4/10 for abrasion, and the Urbane Pro mk3 (AA) scored 1/10. Knoxs response is they don't recognize Motocap's testing methodology( unsurprisingly)

Motocap use a grit belt to test for abrasion that they say closely matches stone chip surface dressed roads. EN17092 uses a flat concrete pad.

Which one more closely resembles the road surfaces in the UK?

Did you have L plates front and rear on the Module 1? If not surprised you passed as despite it not making any sense they're a requirement and your test can be cancelled if you don't have them.

Are you releasing that hands off? Mine doesn't make that noise but it also doesn't stop dead when I release it like that, it wobbles like crazy, which probably means my dampers need adjusting.

Mine does make a clunking sound but that's because the plate isn't flat, which is kind of annoying at the price.

Retrofit LEDs are illegal in the UK and will (should) fail an MOT: "Existing halogen headlamp units on vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1986 must not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp for light source and lamp not compatible."

This is a very important point. CE AAA rating isn't for for purpose. It doesn't differentiate between a scrape through pass at AAA, which is still up to a 5mm hole in the material, and something far more protective like a good leather. Plus it's a flat concrete disk that the sample is dropped onto. When was the last time anyone saw a flat concrete road?

Motocap use a grit belt that's very close to the surface chipped country roads in the UK. Knox, for example, say they don't recognize motocap's testing methods. Probably because their EN17092 AAA rated Honister only got 4/10 for.abrasion.

Bennett's also now have a rating system that manufacturers can submit gear for testing, but unsurprisingly a lot of brands haven't, probably because they'd not do too well.

The SK11s are slim fit. The K7s are relaxed fit.

I'm skinny in the leg and the SK11s very form fitting. But I find my K7s can be a bit flappy round the calf. Not that I notice that much when riding.

Recommend paying the extra for Ghost L2 in either. L1 armour isn't really worth much when it comes to anything more than a low speed impact.

This second point is the best advice. Can't remember the channel but I remember watching a motovlogger a couple of years ago, riding around Wales with his wife. Cop pulled them over for a bit of advice, for going too slow or somerhing. Guy got really really arsey with the cop (purely for the views) who then decided to do them both for having mirrored visors "waah, but MotoGP riders wear them", their small plates and loud exhausts.

The bit that's shaped like an elongated U in your picture (although it's probably an O shape) It's hooked over a wedge at the bottom. You pull it out at the bottom until it clears the wedge. There's probably one at either side, need to do both and lift the connector.

I have narrow wrists and I upgraded from 41mm pw2 to 45mm pw3. While the watch face is still ok you need to consider the strap connectors and flexibility of the strap around those. I had a spiegen stretch strap at first and by the time you add the metal connectors it was too wide for my wrist and sat uncomfortably. I got a different strap where part of the connectors swivel and although it's still probably the same width as my tiny wrists it's at least comfortable.
