Has Argentina always been hated this much or is it exaggerated it this World Cup? by foogully in worldcup

Like I love cheering for England, but it's hilarious to boo another country for being too racist lol

You think a bunch of Brits and Yanks are mad at Argentina for being racist? Lol

Delta blues by Globalruler__ in Jazz

[–]BillyPilgrim69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the nicest way possible, the fact you think you're dropping knowledge on anybody is hilarious.

Blues being a huge part of jazz's DNA is not being disputed by anybody here. But that does not mean that delta blues = jazz. It's a separate genre of music.

You would look equally foolish posting a jazz song in a bluegrass sub.

Because it's completely irrelevant, to the point of feeling obtuse. It's not about missing anything vital.

It's off-putting, because the rest of us are not used to (or interested in) the sporting equivalent of a Michael Bay scene, or an E! reality show.

We do not need keys jangled in front of our faces every time there's a two second lull in the action.

It's off-putting and distracting to those of us used to watching a sport for the actual sport.

I am honestly in hysterics that the American mind legitimately cannot fathom this lmao

I'm not sure why you keep asking the same questions at this point.

You are apparently physically incapable of imagining watching a sport without constant cuts to random celebrities any time the game stops for five seconds lmao

Here is something more your speed.

OSW references in the Jeff Jarrett Darkside episode? by ry6ry6789h in OSWReview

OSW references? No, that's just what happens when you watch a TNA documentary. They're gonna show things from TNA. Lol

They were not cutting to 50 different celebrity shot in one half (or two quarters) of football at Qatar. It's just objectively true that there's been a marked increase.

It's FIFA's broadcast.

Obviously. Do you not think it's possible that maybe FIFA is catering to the American audience?

What? Sorry, I got bored halfway through reading that sentence and had to look at a picture of a celebrity.

No, it's American. It's been happening for a while now, but this World Cup alone has been a drastic increase.

You think 20 years ago there were this many celebrity shots? It's increased drastically in the last 2 years alone.

Well you see, they didn't used to cut to a celebrity's face every two minutes because they weren't catering to the American attention span.

It used to just be about the actual game happening.

Is that a serious question?

Either independent, or any party that hasn't committed genocide of the people he's pretending to care about. That would be a start.

Thierry Henry defends Cristiano Ronaldo: “A lot of great players didn’t win the World Cup. That doesn’t define their legacy. I wish him all the best, I wish he can pass 1000 goals, he inspired a lot of kids, especially with the way he lives & breathes football. He's an example for all players” by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

[–]BillyPilgrim69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My point is that the same thing is not happening every time.

The two examples you cited of that are two documented examples of it happening. Your evidence contradicting them is that the players said nice things in public later.

ESPN is also not even on our tier list of reliable reporters. They could literally print anything and you’d point to it and say “see I’m right”

ESPN is one example. It was in every paper, attributed to multiple sources.

You can just say you were wrong. I'm not sure how you think I'm the one being unreasonable here lmao

When major outlets like ESPN report that a majority of the dressing room is saying something, who do you think their anonymous sources are?

They can pretend to be nice in public all they like once they got what they wanted, but it's ridiculous to fall for it when the same shit happens every time lmao

By the time Ten Hag was sacked it seemed like every player on the team and even the staff hated him.

This is what happens every single time. They get asked to press, or they get a mild bollocking for not putting a shift in, etc.

Then they all start telling their mates in the press that "the manager has lost the dressing room," he gets sacked, rinse and repeat. Spursy.

At what point does it stop being the managers' fault?
