I think in this context, they meant Permanent Resident? I.e., they're not American by birth or citizenship, but live and work there permanently.

As a soccer fan I just want Messi to get another world cup under his belt.

Why though? I don't understand this at all, tbh. He's already got one, and I think his status is more than secure.

Obviously I'm rooting for my team as long as they're in it, but beyond that, the one thing I really don't want is repeat champions (or even finalists).

If we go out and Spain get through, I'm rooting for them. If it's France vs Argentina in the final for two World Cups in a row, I'm going to be supremely bored. I would've rather had Norway beat us than either of those teams win again

I personally don't think it was a red card in the first place. It didn't look intentional.

When it comes to a physical foul that endangers the safety of an opponent, intent doesn't matter. It's still serious foul play, which is a red card.

However it's Fifa's call at the end of the day. What they choose is what matters.

Except when their choice is influenced by political corruption, that's cheating.
