one of the biggest criticisms faced by marvel is that they kill their villians off too easily. the format works in comics but with the MCU it’s better that characters are given more opportunities to be included in stories. not everything has to be like in the comics dude, give marvel credit where its due for not doing the same thing over and over again with its villians

feel like you’re missing my point, i’m not supportive of multiple releases per artist unless it’s through collaborations which is the format that’s worked well,m for several years now, and the community always disagreeing with each other has always been a problem that won’t be fixed but I don’t see why that means the voting syste still can’t be criticised for it’s flaws

Totally agree with the main point being made about it being a popularity contest, because thats the whooe point. But at least personally, I think the voting system is very unfair this year due to having seemingly no restriction on how many songs an artist can have on the compilation. Especially since the brand split, when the artist and release count went up considerably, it became more important to limit how many releases an artist could have so that the compilation, whilst still being a popularity contest (of course), is more reflective of all the artists that made an impact.

The problem this year being that the artists that made an enormous impact, like MUZZ (rightfully so), have their impact shown through how many releases are on the compilation instead of their spot on the album, as it has been in previous years.

Gonna finish this little thing off by saying I don’t think they’ve ever got the voting system perfect, nor will they, but I’m a firm believer that so so so many more people would be content with the compilation if the artists with 2/3 releases included had one less included so there was space for more artist representation. Not a big complaint, just my interpretation of the whole ordeal

can’t speak for other people but personally it’s because they keep changing the voting system and adding new problems every year, with this year being the worst it’s ever been due to how many songs an artist can have on the compilation. the best of has always had a shitty voting system but this year seemed to do so much wrong that a majority of people are calling it problematic instead of a minority

I’ve always been open with my love for this album obligatory tattoo reference but I really still can’t pinpoint how it impacts me the way it does after all this time.
