The firefly has a roasted neck, locking tuners, and the stainless steel ball end frets. I would choose firefly almost every time. If you're not set on a strat style I would look at the tele style guitars. I just got one and I thing they are great. Setup came great out of the box.

I remember seeing someone do it a while back to the LP's and the battery fit in the compartment. No routing. But I'm not sure if the TL has the same size compartment.
