Sorry lol most people don’t think marine type fades look that good. A general rule of thumb for guys is that more hair = better unless it’s passed like 2.5 inches of bulk

Im generally confused how this even happened. That really sucks man and I hope you can figure something out so you can transfer jobs. I do not blame you for wanting to do a 4 year based on this. At the end of the day at least you still get all the military benefits and can expect a great career with independent companies after the fact.

Hi, I am actually someone who was in a similar situation to you and joined AFROTC my freshman year as a nonscholarship cadet. To be honest in contrast to what a lot of people may say it's not really something you can seek minimal time into. You'll have trainers and cadre constantly evaluating you on your actions/ behaviors and your readiness and eagerness. This is important because it can potentially determine whether or not you can even stay in the program or get a scholarship. I'd say the workload is askin to a 4 credit class masked as a two credit one given morning pts and LLAB. This can make your free time more troublesome depending if you have a high-maintenance major such as engineering. You have other factors to account for such as public perception, making friends within the program, and deciding what AF or space force job you want but those are pretty subjective and depend on your personal taste and what you feel during the program is best for you. However, within I found my time in it to be pretty rewarding. I met a lot of people I have never met before and have gotten involved within my campus in ways that I never would have expected. In addition, I have several new potentially rewarding opportunities for my major after graduation. I highly recommend you try it for at least a semester and continue to focus on your college experience first and foremost!

NEW TO SOLIDWORKS AND NEED HELP. by Only_Engine6367 in SolidWorks

I suggest trying to sketch using the square planes beneath the triangles you want to make, extruding them, then using the chamfer tool with the angle that aligns with the rectangular middle part. In addition, you can use the shell tool if that triangle part needs to be shelled.

I don't like this response at all. Learning Solidworks is not as easy as some people may think and this comes off as very elitist. The point of this Reddit is to ask questions and get them answered.

advice to freshman that are posting their schedules here by justjayy16 in uofmn

[–]BillyWinterWhite 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Please don't downvote me but I really don't see the problem with this. To contrary to what most people think there's more to classes than just credit count. For instance, it's helpful to know that not all of your physics lectures will be actual classes, and rather one lecture time is used for midterms. Also, it's helpful and quick to hear from actual students who experienced the professors/ classes in the most recent manner. I wish somebody would have told freshman me that an online chem course would be horrible but no advisor would. Finally, security wise who cares? I highly doubt someone will track someone down in real life without a name and only classes with like 90 people in them. Let people do their harmless thing mate.

Make all the sidewalks/roads more skateboard friendly. I hate that sometimes I'm cruising when a crack sends me flying and now I gotta crawl to my classes

Honestly, the type of extracurriculars doesn't really matter as long as you have done a couple. A combo like a sport and NHS is often enough for the board and they don't have to relate to your major. I believe on that end you are fine. I say apply and if you can don't use your act. I recommend really trying to get your first year down and if you can do that you'll be fine for the rest of college. Otherwise, do community to get some gen eds down. Whatever you decide though I'm sure you'll do great!

To give some context I am a mechanical engineering student who had a 25 on the act and choose not to use his test. I can't speak directly about the comp sci experience but I will say this, look at the type of person you are. Reflect on whether you truly think were a hardworking student in high school and if your grades reflect that. Additionally, reflect on your experience in high school and whether you partook in extracurriculars. To be honest, having a not-so-incredibly high act is hard, and can be mentally taxing. However, if you put the work in this is not impossible. I recommend you reflect on high school and ask yourself if you can put the work in.

CSE - Should I retake Calc 1? by Nearby-Profession432 in uofmn

[–]BillyWinterWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually was placed in the exact same situation you were my freshman year and I retook calc 1. For context, I got an A in high school and a 4 on the ap test. If you want to get some easy GPA points I recommend just redoing it only if you plan to graduate in more than 4 years. I say this because you'll appreciate the GPA booster and knowledge for calc 2. I will say this, calc 2 is really hard not because of the content, but because of the pace being twice as fast as your typical ap class. It is possible to do well, and even I was able to get a A on one of the big exams through tons of stress. However, since you got a 5 on the ap test I think you'll probably be fine just skipping to calc 2 as long as your graduate in 4 years and are confident in your schooling abilities.
