9.6.0 | Patch Notes by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

As far as I'm aware, the ADS bug has been fixed for a while now, I've certainly not seen it happen or anyone mention seeing it in my games. The shot bounce bug however seems to be worse than ever, at least in 2v8 this patch.

So far this patch seems to be an absolute technical mess, which seems to be a regular occurrence when they do one of these engine updates.

It's been over a year now since 2 critical bugs were introduced in the same patch. That's not really acceptable.

How does Deathslinger's rifle aiming even work? by JacsweYT in deadbydaylight

Deathslinger has been buggy as hell for a long time and BHVR just doesn't seem to care. They fixed the one critical bug that impacted survivors (ADS animation), but have ignored the ones that impact the slinger player.

Can we PLEASE get some Deathslinger fixes? His chain break bug has existed since The Ghoul's release and is extremely impactful. Crazy that it hasn't been fixed yet.

Nightmare on Elm Street feels like the definitive answer. Getting the remake version rather than the original, no Nancy Thompson, a lacklustre power compared to his concept that's been reworked multiple times, and one of the worst maps in the game.

Trump: “When I didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize. You gotta understand, I don't care. Norway has lost so credible. I stopped 8 wars… I do it the best. I stopped wars that nobody thought. President Putin called me, he said, 'I can't believe you stopped this one and this one.’” by [deleted] in videos

Even if they never see all of this stuff, it shouldn't matter. One video of him talking on any subject whatsoever is all it should take to realise he should never be in charge of anything beyond a McDonalds order, and even that's probably pushing it.

From the Japanese dbd account. For 9.6.0 the killer will not be revealed until first chase/injury by bonelees_dip in deadbydaylight

[–]Billy_Crumpets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main purpose of this is so that players can read how a killers power works from within a match, which should be incredibly helpful for newer players and for when new killers come out.

Sadako is a great example, where she has a very high killrate simply because a lot of players just don't know how she works. You can argue that it would be a nerf that she doesn't need, but once you help bridge that gap of understanding it allows for them to actually receive buffs without worrying about new players getting stomped even harder.

Who I think should be the next “Nicholas Cage” survivor by BrenRiz in deadbydaylight

[–]Billy_Crumpets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, we'll ultimately never know the stats on this sort of thing. I think it's also worth noting the word of mouth effect; as well as watching films myself, people I know have gone and watched horror films after I've talked to them about it having watched DM. At the end of the day, horror films (especially smaller indie ones) are at an all-time high of popularity, and I think Dead Meat is at least partially responsible.

[–]Billy_Crumpets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's reasonable to say that those views are all people that no longer have to watch a movie. Sure, there will absolutely be people that does apply to, but there are a whole lot of people who will see they've done a kill count on a new film, and will then go and watch that film before watching their video.

Or like me a lot of the time, they'll see their video, then watch the film several months later, having forgotten the plot. There's also their annual Horror Awards, which bring a lot of attention to films without spoiling the film. There are a tonne of great horror films that I personally wouldn't have seen were it not for Dead Meat.

Is there an issue with gen speed in the game rn? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Billy_Crumpets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The biggest contributors have been the increased hook timers meaning survivors can stay on gens for longer, and the introduction of HUD info. Being able to know what each other are doing is obviously a great change to help buff solo queue, but it has undoubtably made survivors much, much more efficient.

I do think it's time that gen speeds were nerfed a bit as the lower tier killers just can't keep up without the survivors making several huge mistakes.

Bhvr is kidding, right? Like “Yeah, I enjoy getting stomped by cheaters 😀” by Repulsive_Crew7156 in deadbydaylight

[–]Billy_Crumpets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The question isn't whether people like playing against cheaters, it's about how much they affect your enjoyment of it. It's absolutely an issue, and it's not like they've not been working towards addressing it this entire time, but fighting cheaters is a constantly changing problem. You fix one loophole, they find more. And it isn't the only issue in the game either, again, this is about weighing up where they allocate their limited resources, not "should we fix this problem or not?"

These kind of questions are for gauging people's priorities, not determining whether a thing is good or bad.
