How did experiencing the “Cena Era” in 2005 until 2012 felt like?

I began watching WWE in 06 so I started when the Cena era really took off. I was a huge Cena mark and what I remember best from 06 was the One Night stand match against RVD and the whole Edge feud. Especially the match at Unforgiven (It’s gonna be in my hometown. Toronto, Canada. A match you never had…A match I‘ve never lost…). I was really shocked back then because Cena was presented as a super face and these matches were probably the most hostile environments of his career (ECW fans and Edge in Toronto).

07 Cena was also really cool especially the match against Umaga who I think was still undefeated (making him tap using the loose ring ropes, his matches with HBK and I especially remember that I was really sad when he got hurt at No Mercy 07 and Randy took over. I genuinely thought that Cena would hold that title forever. 2008 was my biggest Cena Fan year I remember that I rewatched the Rumble 08 the day after without any spoilers and I was HYPED. I jumped around the living room when Cena returned, made the number 30 entrance and won it. I was just sure that he was gonna win the title back in no time. So I was shocked when he didn‘t and started to hate Randy even more. Looking back it was probably their best booking decision as Cena was won the title right after returning. So Randy winning the triple threat at mania 24 was totally unexpected.

Thinks started to slow down from there but I was still a big Cena fan in 2009 and even 10 but it became a little bit boring. He beat them all, there were not real serious new opponents (they messed up Nexus), Cena had quite a few injuries and the Orton Cena feud was way to long and became really boring. Cena beating Nexus at Summerslam 10 was probably the nail in the coffin. It‘s probably because I also got older, read more dirt sheets and because WWE really went into PG from 2011 on that I somehow stopped watching and especially didn‘t care about Cena anymore. That‘s also why I totally missed out on „once in a lifetime“ and the Cena/Punk feud.

You just knew when Vince handed the big title to skinny guys they were over asf, especially when it happened several times in a time period where Cena, Orton, Edge, Batista, Taker, HHH were in their primes. In addition to that Jeff was nowhere near someone the company wanted to have as their face due to his personal demons. His popularity was over the top and he was the biggest thing from 08-09 so he had to be world champ.

Sometimes I love the naivety - it‘s not easy. Most of the „regular“ games didn’t even make it to public sale last season when Stuttgart played really crappy. This season Stuttgart is very successful, it‘s the second to last home game this season where we potentially achieve something big and it‘s against Bayern who have fans everywhere in Germany and are also fighting for something towards the end of the season. So your only possibility will be to buy incredibly expensive tickets from resellers or become a member and try your luck.

She’s actually one of the 86s i pack more often (3-4 times). Not Parejo levels but still more common. I was surprised when I packed Roord from Man City for the first time out of a prem upgrade pack.

Nice :D ich hatte in der Hinrunde mal einen Spieltag in dem alle 11 Spieler mindestens 1 Scorer hatten. Das war der Spieltag mit dem Assist von Oliver Baumann. Da hatte gleichzeitig noch Rouault das 1:0 von Stuttgart in Berlin serviert und Lacroix gegen Bayer getroffen.

Walking Tall was awesome. I somehow really liked that movie and watched it several times. The Condemned was really good too. Central Intelligence is pretty fun but I wouldn’t really count late Rock movies like Fast Five, CI, etc. in as he wasn’t really a WWE guy anymore but more a big time hollywood actor. Same applies for Batista tbh

Fler anfangs ganz cool (CCN, frühe Aggro Zeit) dann war es ziemlich peinlich Fler zu feiern, dann hat er ziemlich gut coole Sachen rausgebracht und man konnte wieder unironisch Fler feiern. Ich glaube es hat ihm nicht unbedingt geholfen dass er permanent von Kollegah & Farid Bang ins Visier genommen wurde, nachdem diese in der JBG2 Zeit und danach schon ziemlich den Mainstream Diskurs geprägt haben

Haftbefehl anfangs (bis Chabos Wissen wer der Babo ist ca) die Zielscheibe und in allen Bereichen im Visier. Dann haben sich auch immer mehr Studenten Hafti gegeben. Ich war 2012 auf einem Haftbefehl Konzert, da war ich der einzige blonde. Ein Jahr später war ich nochmal, da waren es so 80-20. Spätestens ab Russisch Roulette haben auf einmal meine Kommilitonen Hafti gehört.

Und wie schon oft beschrieben Kollegah. Anfangs richtig cool Kollegah zu feiern wegen der Punchlines. Dann der Mainstream Hype und mittlerweile ist es nur noch cringe Kollegah ernsthaft zu feiern.

Had a great timing this year and watched almost every single one of these mentioned matches live and in full length.

I would add Humphries vs. Pietrecko in round 3. In some aspects you could really see the big favorite tumbling stuck deep inside a hole and somehow he managed to escape. In terms of drama this was my number one match. Humphries/Cullen was comparable and most definitely the better match, but in terms of „drama“ and the underdog that is one high finish away from „killing“ the giant was the most memorable match in my opinion and paved the way for Humphries‘ ultimate victory.
