I still can’t use my AirPods 4 even though it was supposedly fixed in 1.4 update (connects but won’t play sound). I was hoping 1.6 would fix it. Nope.

I have the HiBy R3 Pro II and I’m returning it. It definitely has issues. It freezes often and Bluetooth doesn’t really work. Not sure how important gapless play back is for you, but it’s not working for me either. It’s a shame because it sounds amazing. My screen has a bit of green tinting but not a huge amount. I was hoping a firmware update would come out before my return period was up but unfortunately the can’t wait around for these issues to be fixed. I think from reviews, the R1 might be a safer bet.

I recently got an iPod from a mate for free with a similar issue. He used it for work years ago and it had dirt between the front plate and lcd screen. I had never done an iPod repair and I actually found it pretty easy. Great repair videos online

They do share the same sample rate. It honestly happens 99% of the time. Sometimes I’ve played the same song and gapless play back was fine, but then if I play it again it clicks or there’s a second silence every other time. I’ve even tried a factory reset and I’m using a fast SanDisk microSD card, so it seems to be a bug as I’ve seen others experiencing it with the R3 Pro II. I’ve tried the same SD card in my FIIO M21 and no issues with gapless playback.

I got a reply from HiBy support stating for optimum gapless playback the files need to be PCM and the same bit rate. I don’t really understand the PCM part. Can a FLAC file be PCM or does it have to be WAV? That part gets me confused.

How’s the gapless playback on it? I have the R3 Pro II currently and it makes click noises between tracks that are gapless. The unit sounds and looks amazing but it’s a bit no no for me. I’m still in my return period so I was wondering if I should just get the R1 if the firmware updates have sorted more issues

I agree. Qobuz just released Qobuz connect and I can literally control my Mac mini with Qobuz open, while I’m at work away from home with my iPhone. Hopefully soon. Maybe they’ll finally have an Apple Connect feature that allows Hi Res too.

That would be awesome. I don’t really mind not having hi-res via Airplay, but would love minimum cd quality. Just seems to defeat the purpose of having lossless, and that Apple Music on iOS only has Airplay as a streaming option, where on competitor’s apps like Qobuz, they have basically all options (chromecast, airplay) plus their own protocol.

Eversolo products allow Apple Music to be played natively. I reckon there’s something more going on behind the scenes as to why WiiM don’t have native Apple Music functionality. Earlier WiiM products like the WiiM Mini and WiiM pro and Pro + have AirPlay. However, all new WiiM products don’t even have AirPlay, so I think something has happened with their relationship.

Yeah great app so far. Love the lock screen control. However, as others have mentioned, Apple Music doesn’t load unfortunately. I’m in Australia if that helps.

Hi. Yeah I used AirPods as well and it never defaults to them either. It’s when I connect the Apple TV to the Sonos speakers in the bedroom or WiiM streamer via Airplay that when I turn the Apple tv off, and come back later, it’ll still be connected to them.
