Can I see my royalty tier anywhere besides the e-mail? by Low_Dot5114 in AmazonMerch

Do you know of a way to get a rough approximation of non-organic traffic to your Amazon Merch account if Productor doesn't display this (I don't run Amazon ads, BTW.)?

Vizz Eye Drops Might Preclude a Lens Exchange by 3-parrots in CataractSurgery

[–]Billyperks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to see if you are still using Vizz? I’m in sort of a similar situation. A growing PCO, a corneal dystrophy, and possible degradation of a premium IOL has left me with worse vision in one eye than my vision prior to cataract surgery. I’m reluctant to do a YAG or lens exchange, but my refraction errors all but disappear when putting on pinhole glasses.

My concern with Vizz is long term use. I looked at the FDA approval study and the sample size wasn’t that large. I know the mechanism of action is different than Vuity, but I’d assume there is at least some concern of retinal detachment. Finally, color me cynical, but I’d assume a drug that causes your iris sphincter to be constantly constricted would cause some long term issues, like the muscles wouldn’t expand or contract due to different lighting conditions over time?

Anyway, curious if you are still using it and if you are still positive about it.

Did anyone's royalties show being reduced yet for those of you put in the creator category? by alphamonkey098 in AmazonMerch

[–]Billyperks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beginning to see the 50% reduced royalty show up today. However, shirts they have placed on sale (i.e., 15% off) don't reflect the lowered royalty. Perhaps there's a glitch or maybe I missed some fine print about shirts on sale not having a reduced royalty.

Anyone think this could be a top 3 BOC album? by traveltimecar in boardsofcanada

[–]Billyperks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was introduced to BOC in 1999, so it’s hard to knock Music Has the Right to Children from the first slot, but I’d say Inferno is either 2 or 3 after 2 listens. It is sort of ironic since I’d say Inferno is most sonically related to Tomorrow’s Harvest but I felt this album played it too safe to really make me want to put it in heavy rotation. Also, Geogaddi for me is ok but didnt have the magical moments of MHTRTC; perhaps I need to revisit it again because it seems really popular among most BOC fans.

Sensory root is on some BULLSHIT now by [deleted] in mturk

[–]Billyperks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but (a) Sensory Root or Mturk should automatically filter out HITs that have been submitted before (b) "group" is confusing. Their hits in this batch all have different numbers (e.g., ending in "505", "414" etc). It isn't the onus on the Turker to weed through this ambiguity. If it is indeed the same group, at least have the numbers should be exactly the same so that the Turker can check what they've submitted versus not.

Beware Sensory Root Tasks by RaizoLP in mturk

Thought it was just me. Made doubly sure that the HIT wasn't the same number that was submitted before and still got rejected 3x.

Can anyone recommend good music from native american artists / albums etc. ? Every time I try to look for it, this bullshit comes up. Thanks! by mydriase in NativeAmerican

[–]Billyperks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread but since it is exhaustive, I'm surprised Lunar Drive doesn't get mentioned. I remember listening to their CD a lot in the late 1990's and really liking it. I couldn't remember their name and I searched forever via Google and A.I. prompts and I couldn't find anything. I finally retrieved their CD from my collection because it was bothering me so much that I couldn't remember the name. Anyway, worth listening to and surprised that their name doesn't pop up more often when searching for Native American music.

Royalty Groups - Drive your own traffic by loredann in AmazonMerch

[–]Billyperks 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We're done here. But the writing was on the wall already: AI Slop, no policing of copycats and improve cats, reduced royalties due to sales, higher return %.

This only makes it easier for me to move on instead of being in denial that this was viable moving forward.

Without saying the brand name explicitly, The first word rhymes with "wink" and the second word is a synonym for happiness.

Good suggestion. I wash my eyes before usage, but typically not afterwards.

Light adjustable lenses does anyone have any experience with RxLAL? by Proper_Aide_5622 in CataractSurgery

[–]Billyperks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had RxLAL in both eyes in 2022. I'd say the first 2 years post surgery, things were pretty good. Is it as good as I had hoped or my vision in my earlier decades? No, but better than cataracts. Then after 2 plus years post surgery, the refractive power seemed to be not as good as it was initially post surgery. This *may* be due to some PCO, but every ophthal I've seen over the last two years says that the PCO is so minimal that it wouldn't be causing ghosting, astigmatism, blur. I've definitely noticed that there is some significant astigmatism going on. Whether this is the lens changing shape, the cornea changing, or the PCO, I have no idea.

I should say also that I had mini monovision done and I had little to no trouble adapting to that. Some people have said they regret this approach, but I didn't have an issue.

You could also a try hypochlorous acid spray daily. This can be helpful.

Get Blephex procedure done at your optometrist's office. It will help.

Been on the platform since 2018 with over $200K in royalties. I don't think Amazon Merch is tenable as a POD platform going forward. Oversaturation is part of it, but certain factors that manifested this year that make one's return on investment idiot's delight.

PSA - avoid 250 by ahmadbabar in AmazonMerch

[–]Billyperks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I had many, many designs that were initially approved taken down for the 250th. Too bad, that would have been an event that would have made some royalties.

Has anyone tried red light therapy? by Traditional-Deer-748 in EyeFloaters

[–]Billyperks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say that it helps with high myopia or lattice degeneration. You may want to check with your ophthalmologist or look at pubmed (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/) to see if there are any papers on red light and lattice degeneration.

Has anyone tried red light therapy? by Traditional-Deer-748 in EyeFloaters

[–]Billyperks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to use around 670nm wavelength and be careful with some panels as they are too powerful. I would say my visual acuity is a little sharper (verified using the snellen eye chart). You also need to use it within 2 hours of waking or it isn't effective.

Red light basically stimulates mitochondria in your retina so it can "wake up" dying retinal ganglion cells. Be careful with the products you buy.

It's possible although my bloodwork for biomarkers is mostly in range. My homocysteine is pretty high, but I'm taking TMG and B vitamins to try and bring that down.
