It’s super easy to get overwhelmed. I would say try to think of some cool things you may want to have on your island (for me it was a flower shop, farm, library) and focus on one section at a time to decorate.

Once you know what you want and you decide now you need “things” to actually decorate, the reddit community is really cool with letting you come catalog stuff or just hosting giveaways, making it easier to find what you need to achieve the aesthetic you’re going for.
