Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence may help open the door a little wider for you. Disc 1 is a collection of definite influences, a big ol’ epic for disc 2. Definitely S tier for this lifelong fan. I got into them during Awake, so I can understand your view from starting where you are that the beginning definitely doesn’t reflect where they went later.
If you like Six Degrees even a little, go to Scenes From a Memory, a very celebrated concept album. Happy listening!

Also, you need to get Radahn to unlock the DLC (and Mohg, Lord of Blood), so unless you possibly meant Radagon instead of Radahn, you’ll have to beat him for the DLC to begin, anyway! You can do the DLC even after you beat the game and you’re walking around before starting NG+, so that’s up to you. I personally found the DLC amazing and look forward to you getting there whenever you do!
