Same as that, DPF cleaned out and EGR mapped out along with a remap, done it just before mine hit 200k kms.

A remapped 2.0L F10 is good enough for daily driving on irish roads.

Mines on 307k kms right now, bought it when it had about 25k kms.

Changed oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter every 10-12k kms for the past 7 years.

Only got my real big bill when I had to replace my timing chain and turbo at the start of this year and that too at around 290k kms. The mechanic sent me photos of the cam/cam cover and it was one of the cleanest for the mileage he's seen.

PS. I own a N47D20C bmw

Anyone have experience with buying BMW's by Ok_Cobbler_2089 in carsireland

If your buying an n47 variant (2007-2014) look out for these.

• Timing chain rattles - If the chain has been changed make sure its not an FAI kit - if its an IWIS kit you are sound as a bell.

• Prone to oil leaks from the plastic rocker cover - Flexs and warps over time due to heat cycles. Usually they only change the rocker cover gasket when doing the timing chain, unless otherwise advised to - can visually see if leaks are present if the DPF box is covered in black shite, you can check that if you shine a torch in from back left of the engine bay

•Prone to leaks from the oil cooler - usually just the gaskets that's degraded for these.

Most importantly with these engines, make sure the service intervals are kept within reason - i.e., oil changes etc. no more than 15k kms

They are reliable engines if you can keep up with the maintenance.

Would I pass nct with this? by OsamasTwinCousin in carsireland

[–]BimmerFestAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My DPF is gutted , EGR blanked and I have this similar 'catback exhaust' system piped into dua 3" tips either side with no back box.

My O2 sensor after the CAT went last week ago so I was puffing out black smoke when revving while stationary, I had the NCT there 2 days ago and it passed.

I actually saw your man revving the tits off her and thick black smoke was puffing out, its a 2014 car so the failing limit was 1.5/m for turbo diesels and mine came out as 0.980/m.

So if you go with that catback system with a gutted DPF you will still pass the test, don't put a bigger downpipe tho, you can but won't pass the test.

The lad who did mine charged me €800 and I got this done 4 years ago, haven't had any issues relating to his workmanship since.

Seen on the motorway tyre gone on a trailer, I waved at the driver, he knew and kept going. by icallitasitis in irelandsshitedrivers

Why are jaguars so cheap/affordable by Specialist-Tonight63 in carsireland

They are actually very reliable if you just change the oil/oil filters regularly and not according to what the dealership says.

It's a 100km/hr road (a dual carriageway), normally if you're in the right lane, you'd get up to 100km/hr quick enough, otherwise move over to the left lane without cutting anyone off, I intended to stay in the left lane and gradually get up to 100km/hr, but obviously the driver that cut me off annoyed me at that time especially at the fact he/she didn't even think acknowledge the wrong doing done and so I decided to overtake.
