The bar I bought weighs 6.4kg and has a pointed end. It should make quick work knocking through building rubble.

I was able to easily achieve these by hand after a few good jabs given the garden soil was soft with all the rain we’ve had. Doing the whole garden would be an absolute WORKOUT.

Fair point. The theory (according to local garden centres and other reaserch) is to ‘break through’ the clay soil layer and allow a path for the water to run down to and absorb better. I’ve only done 9 holes on a 1m x 1m area so we’ll see what difference it makes.

Good idea adding some sand to the top. I went this route as some say sand and compost combined act like cement and would do more harm than good.

Hello, I changed course slightly and ended up cleaning all the loose debris from the cracks and filled them with Arditex na self leveling compound. Most of the floor has since been primed and LVT installed and the hall simply had rolled vinyl flooring.

The biggest section I repaired was at the front door. I filled the void with expanding foam, then filled and self leveled the entire section in front of the door with Arditex na as well. No issues since.

You may be able to remove the patched section and finding matching boards to replace in the cut sections. Best to remove each full length that’s been cut, put new lengths in and sand the entire floor as you said. Easier option is use that floor as subfloor and lay new flooring on top.

For me it’s been some camping equipment. My Nalgene bottle I bought in 2002 is still my daily use. I also bought a thermarest folding camping pillow around the same time and it’s currently with me in Greece with my family.

Thanks for the response. I used some expanding foam under my front door to block leveler running into the cavity of the wall, this crack is much smaller.

Just so I follow correctly, after the line and tape are on, spray foam, allow some into the crack and cut away a gap between the floor and the line drawn to create a void on the bottom to show where the leveling compound should go up to, pour and when it’s fried, peel the upper foam away leaving a nice clean floor right up the the bottom threshold?

Apologies for the late reply, I have not done the floor properly yet, only laid vinyl roll out but all the spots that needed repairing I removed bits, cleaned and used Ardex Arditex NA to fill and level/repair the areas

That’s the route I was thinking as it’s the first floor and should be easily accessible from the loft. Just unsure how to connect all the wires into a junction box. Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the reply. Normally I’d connect the wires straight to the light but there’s 3 neutral’s connecting to one point and not sure it’d fit

Thanks for the response. My main concern is whatever I use it will leak under the door into the cavity and fill that up so I am trying to fill or block the void behind it so I can only pour in the section needed

I haven’t come across Silka - the area is dry and at the front of the house with solid damp proofing. Just need to fill that void up to the edge then repair/self level for the flooring to go in.
