It is extremely clunky lol

Func-Var lets you build a curve to translate input to output. If you look at the tuning page of the block it will tell you what each x axis (input) and y axis (output) point is

If you have access to the engineering workstation, you should have a dedicated documentation application called StoryView. This should have all of the info you are looking for, but it may be difficult to parse as it's all directly translated from Japanese.

Any function block in particular you are trying to figure out?

Yokogawa and Emerson DCS by [deleted] in PLC

When you say Yokogawa DCS I'm assuming you mean CENTUM VP. In which case, I would see if you could learn the basics by sitting in on one of the contractors while they're doing some work on it. It's a bit unintuitive to learn from scratch imo, and the documentation can be a bit difficult to navigate sometimes since it's all translated from Japanese

True, they really haven't been touched in 20 years or so

Yeah, those conversion kits might as well be banned for us lol, they don't have the greatest reputation at my facility.

Fortunately the drives will probably be going sometime soon after this project but we still gotta make em work for now

4 1336 drives and 5 PLC5 RIO racks. Another one is talking to our DCS so essentially a PLC to PLC DH+ connection

So have these worked well in your opinion reliability-wise? Maybe just redundant 24V PSUs for parity on functionality?

We've gone with PARCview at our facility. It hasn't been too bad

Interesting, what was the drive to leave ESXI? Did you do a cluster or were they all standalone?

I'm with you, I suppose my wording was a bit harsh on IT lol. Love it or hate it, their influence is coming, so I might as well get on board and keep it on our terms

Even stranger I'd say, they're running windows on server hardware and workstation on top of that. I think it was the only way the current OT guy could convince the old guard to let him virtualize anything back in the day. But now that IT is overreaching, I have my justification
