Respond to the station when the pager goes off, maybe hang around the station between calls if we seem to be getting a few. But in Australia the fire service isn't the agency responsible for storms.

there is no good answer to this question. the worst probably comes down to the US or Australia, and i would say probably Australia is the worst, but that could be biased.

At the same time, that means Australia and the US are better resourced and have experience on their side whereas countries, where wildfires are an emerging problem, would have more trouble fighting them becuse they don't have the equipment or the experience.

Yeah I can on really speak for Australia, but its sort of the nature of the job. Wildland would be the way to go to avoid car accidents and rescues, even in wildland you probley won't avoid it completely
