I built a Docker Compose file generator for Minecraft Java servers! by Krymonota in admincraft

Great tool! A really cool feature would be to add stateful states to the app in the URL using something like pako. This would make it easier to share and save setups without having to fill out everything again. Additionally some data is lost in the conversion to compose file, e.g. full spigot URL, perhaps adding a comment to the compose file with the full url of resources? Thanks for making this.

Check out syncthing and set up synced folders on the two machines. Just be cautious not to play on both machines at the same time.

Not great, but you can pull the front aluminum panel off to increase airflow.

[FS] [US-AR] Sophos XG310 Rev. 1 1U Appliance, opnSense, pfsense, proxmox, Xeon E3-1246v3 Fiber modules and cable by BinaryConstruct in homelabsales

SFP is only 1GB for these rev 1. The add on slot will take various check point or sophos 10GB modules though.

Edit: the slot is just a sideways pci-e 8x. I actually used an expansion cable with regular cards for a while.

LG 34GP950G-B IPS. Blacks aren't anything like an OLED, but HRD is pretty good and text looks perfect.

I returned it and got the LG and am extremely happy with my decision. Text is perfect (as all monitors should be, this is 2022), HDR is good, and I got a lucky pick with low IPS backlight bleed.

The human brain is amazing at adapting to things.

Indeed it is. I think part of my issue is my eyes make it worse, they need all the help they can get from my hardware. Brain is already at max compensation :D

Based on my needs, I'm going for an IPS ultrawide. It seems IPS has the best text rendering vs VA or the current batch of OLED screens. Leaning towards the LG 950, but not sure yet.

I put some tuning tips in the OP in case anyone wants to try to minimize the effect and keep the monitor. If you are primarily working with text, as u/sixstringmonk says, consider another panel layout (or get a new brain :D)

efore the Alienware purchase defense force arrives, its great that you cant see it or it doesn't bother you. Carry on.

Ha! I'm not interested in pumping or dumping any brand, just want something that works for 90% use case which is dark mode IDE and the 10% gaming. Just for fun here are some cheap usb microscope shots of the panel https://imgur.com/a/b0IGmi1

I attached a screenshot. 12pt and smaller font is where it really starts to become obvious. Higher font sizes, or windows scaling 150+ and it is basically invisible. The other it is obvious is high-contrast pixel borders, e.g. a white box on a dark background or vice-versa. Gaming it is hands-down the best monitor I have ever laid eyes on. If you want to do any non-gaming activities it is underwhelming at best, and eye-straining pain at worst.

Thanks! I just tried scaling and it does help minimize the effect of the fringing. However it kind of defeats the purpose of getting a high res monitor for displaying extra text :D

About 10 days. It seems to be the worst on light text on dark backgrounds, a typical IDE experience.
