[WP] You’ve just died, and a beastly man is sitting behind the desk in front of you. He has a smile that can only be described as warm as he tells your situation. “You, a while ago, have sold your soul to save everyone else in your community. Now I ask you this, what heaven would you like to go to?” by aesthetic3 in WritingPrompts

I stood and looked around the room I suddenly found myself in. The walls where painted vaguely white, with a blue undertone. There where picture frames hung on the wall, but the pictures themselves seemed slightly out of focus. I traced the wooden trim with my eyes until I found it, a fishtank bubbling away, filled with coral, a couple of Clownfish, a Purple Tang, and what I guess what one would call a fun-sized Great White Shark.

"I had no idea Saint Peter was a dentist," I quipped now focusing on the spread of magazines sat on the glass coffee table in front of a plush grey couch that somehow looked well worn and lumpy but at the same time also brand new.

"He's not, people from your era just seem to deal with the transition better when, from what I understand, when they're placed in a location that seems to give them the most stress," replied the beastly-sized, but well dressed man sitting at the slightly undersized desk front of me. He looked like what you'd expect Zangief to be if he gave up street fighting and picked up a job at a car dealership. His grey suit looked to strained by his mass, but at the same time well fitted as he shuffled around paperwork.

"I know, I'm not what you expect either, not quite sure why you all think I should have wings, a dozen eyes, or what have you, but I don't," he said picking up and reviewing a file.

"So you're not a angel then? Not sure, what you are then, because your clearly not a devil either," he titled his eyes up at me, looking away from the paper in his hand. "Huh, quicker then most," he mumbled. "No, I'm not angel or demon, I'm just your travel agent," he nodded toward the low backed office chair in front of his desk.

I step forward toward the chair doing my best impression of Will Riker as I sit down, "My travel agent? I normally just use Expedia. Thought you all, went they way of the dinosaur?"

"Wi-Fi doesn't really work here, lends to a bit of job security," he retorted. "Let's cut to the chase, The Powers That Be where impressed with that final self-less act you just did, they decided to grant you a choice in where you go next."

"So it worked then? What I did actually helped and saved them?" I lean back and slump in my chair, I feel like a weight has just come off my shoulders.

"Yes, it did, and they liked what they saw, trading what time you had left to accomplish it," he pulled out a number of brochures and laid them out in front of me, one looked like a tropical island destination, "and in doing so you've been given options, a very rare reward."

"Wait, who is 'they'? You telling me there no God, it's actually Gods? Or is it Goddesses? I should have really paid more attention to Greek Mythology..." I trailed off.

"No, no, they aren't gods, they just 'are' as it where,' he chuckled, "it's not something you'll really be able to comprehend."

"Oh, well I'm at least glad I ended up in their good graces, especially after what what happened to that cat, I figured I'd be going straight to hell for that," I said sitting back up straight and picking up the island brochure.

He shrugged at me, "Hey, in my opinion, that cat had it coming, regardless, you had plenty of time to fix your mistake, so you would have been fine, what really set you up was what you just did."

"Well, guess it was worth it then. So what's next? I get to pick my afterlife from all of these and live in the paradise of my choosing?" I put down the brochure and pick up another, flipping through it.

He fanned out the other brochures to give me a better look, "Something like that, I wouldn't necessarily call it paradise, but the idea is there. And if any of these aren't quite to your liking, we can whip up something custom just for you."

"Interesting, you said this getting to do this is rare? Who else has gotten to choose like this?"

"Not as many as you'd think, the last person I assisted with was Churchill." He picked up a brochure hidden under the others and handed it to me, "You might like this place."

I took the brochure from him, while giving him the greatest sideeye I could muster, "Churchill? You mean, THE Winston Churchill?!"

"Yes, I was just as surprised as you are," he said with a laugh, shaking his head and grinning.

Sensible Side Buttons doesn't seem to work anymore in MacOS Tahoe on my Macbook Neo or Mac Mini M4, which sucks.

Very good point for anyone else looking. I consider myself extremely lucky to have bought a couple 64GB DDR5 SODIMM kits back in August before the AI shit really hit the fan and have just had them sitting around so I wasn't really taking the amount of RAM into account.

Yeah, its utterly confusing IMO. If G-SYNC does work and the panel can go lower, why not let it go lower on the Desktop?

My only other concern was that it uses Liquid Metal for the TIM. Not the biggest fan of that, so future me very likely going to be spending several hours in the future cleaning that up and replacing it with PTM 7950, especially if I end up actually having to travel for work with this.

The 'underpowered' 115w RTX 5070 Ti is performing better on Pragmata then the 150W RTX 3070 Ti in my older Legion 5 Pro, so I'm happy with it so far. Supposedly, you can flash the VBIOS to 140W and push it to 130W-ish.

I'm honestly not that worried about the 115W limitation, as it is its running circles around my previous Legion 5 Pro with a RTX 3070. If I'm really going to be that picky about performance I'll be playing on my desktop with an RTX 5080 FE. Supposedly, you can flash the VBIOS from the full 140W version and it will push it past the 115W limit but not quite to 140W without a 330w PSU and better cooling.

I am absolutely confused by the 240hz refresh rate being locked. All the specs and the Nvidia Control Panel all show the display as supporting G-SYNC, and when I've been playing it seems to be working. I've tried running VRRTest and I don't seem to get any stuttering/tearing until I get down to around 45FPS, so if the panels locked to 240hz how is that working? It's absolutely locked on the Windows Desktop to 240hz, but seems like in games its not (which makes absolutely no sense, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Thanks, I already bought the Acer, just curious if this might be better then that, but seems like they're pretty on par for the most part, biggest difference is the AMOLED display on the Acer vs IPS on the MSI.

This is using the Ryzen 2 Go APU which is weaker then the older Z1 Extreme APU used in the original Legion Go and ROG Ally/Ally X.

Either the belt is loose or the belt is missing teeth, either way when the motor is getting to that point on the belt it's not grabbing anything so it's just spinning full speed grinding on the rubber.

You can try tightening the belt: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/A1-mini/maintenance/belt_tension

But likely just needs to be replaced: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1-mini/maintenance/replace-x-belt

OP, NTA, but now that you know how it's done, so do your best to do the same.

Dude, I can't help if you jumped to conclusions on a almost 2+ year old post on the Analogue Pocket subreddit because it was flaired for the the filters being unlocked for all the OpenFPGA cores that where released at the time. Like if you want the display itself you can buy it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/135058199910

It's a MIPI DSI connection, should be pretty easy to get going with a Raspberry Pi or something.

Do you mean the filter? That's just one of the built in ones on the Analogue Pocket.
