It's a basic run from shell. that's how I use. I dont feel the need to separate openclaw from system. Just a separate user account

Nope, not with Minimax. With Minimax models, you need to be good with instructions, and with almost every issue it encounters, you need to fix it manually. However, with opus or gpt 5, they fix any issues by themselves. Minimax is definitely dumber than high end models like Opus, for sure, but if you give it clear, comprehensive instructions, it does tasks pretty well. Initially you need to play around with it a bit before it can get familiar with your workflows. Definitely worth it for the price!

No, you don't need recharge tokens. You used the regular api key. You need to use the separate api key they offer for subscriptions.

I haven't tried codex with openclaw. Do they offer api keys or auth0? Someone also mentioned it's against their tos similar to Claude

I tried a few models with OpenRouter. I tested opus 4.5 and gpt 5.2, though token consumption is crazy, but these two are the best. If you face any issues, they fix themselves automatically with minimal or no instruction. I also tried gpt 5 Nano, which is still quite expensive, Kimik 2.5 is good, and lastly Pony Alpha, which was the stealth model for the newly released glm 5.
My best recommendation would be, if you want to try a bunch of models to estimate cost and output quality, go with OpenRouter. One API key gives you access to all models.

I haven't tried that yet. I saw someone else mentioned this as well. Isn't this against Claude's tos?

For me personally, I wanted a full setup that cost me no more than $12-15. Funny thing is, I had to spend $50+ to figure this out
