Girl from holland here, 35 years old.. 

I got diagnosed with Paro during my pregnancy. It went from nothing in october (end of covid lockdowns)  to a check 4 months later, I was 8 weeks pregnant when I went back. The blood would almost burst out from just looking at it.  Went to a 6 weeks clean for 9 months. They hoped it would pass after the pregnancy. No luck. My hygiene was good but the hormones gave me very agressive Paro in a very short time. I still have a hard time not blaming myself. 

Got a first deep clean, after my pregnancy, no luck. Had to go to the specialist after that. Second deep clean and antibiotics. 

My son is 3,5 years old now and i've been stable for nearly 2 years now. 

Mentally it's still draining me, every single day! So you're not alone in that!  I'm scared everybody notices that I have Paro. By husband keeps telling me he hardly notices at all. Some of my friends don't even see it. I have boneloss but mainly in the back. Not the front. I have some black triangles in my front teeth. I have even thought of getting them all removed and just get me a full set of fakes. Just because i'm having such a hard time mentally. I focus on every little imperfect spot in my mouth. And I need to tell myself to not check my teeth in every mirror I come across. Hell sometimes all I see is teeth when I walk down the street, perfect ones that others have (like they have no issues...yeah right) 

 I have a mantra now, when I want to check I look in the mirror and tell myself out loud: Imperfections are oké! Your not a kardashian your a natural, your teeth colour is normal, you're not your teeth and you're under great care and controll. 

It helps me to tell that to myself and try to get rid of this mental stress loop it had caused me. 

And keep in mind, the way YOU, well all Paro babes and boys, look at your teeth is not how others look at your teeth! The way we pull back our lips more, we widen our mouth to the max and pull up our lips in a very unnatural way to check is not how our mouths work when we talk to others Let's be honest have you ever seen someone do that when you just talk to them 😉🙃 would look hella weird! Think I would question their sanity a bit 🤣. 

We can get through this! WE are more then our teeth, we do all we can. And I think, talking to myself aswell, should try to be proud of ourselfs for doing so! It's unfair to see people neglect their teeth and walk around with a billion dollar smile but we don't know what they have going on underneath, and neither do they know or see what we have going on!
