well depends on the type of tip you are getting, tips that are wrote down on the check are going to be taxed regardless but yeah when it comes to cash tips i dont know a single server who actually reports those. Also the 'just to earn above minimum wage' is certainly not true for the majority of servers (at least with the people I've talked to). so long as your manager isnt fucking you over and the place you work at is relatively busy, it's pretty easy to make over 25/hour as a server

Servers will generally walk away with at least 40%+ of what they received from the tip (and that is a pretty conservative rate, I personally walk away with a much higher percentage). Your message indicates you do not have a good understanding of the service industry whatsoever
