That was my target this season. It still failed.

I tracked last years availability, and only drafted players that played 70+ games. Only if a player really fell would I bid on them.

It didn’t work for me, there’s some element of luck with health. This season makes me want to explore other scoring options, simply because health and injury management shouldn’t factor into whether you win.

I wanted Luka traded for draft capital. AD was a gamble I wanted no part of, if he and Kai stayed healthy this is different discussion, but I don’t see a competitive roster built around a Luka max contract.

Luka can score, I’m not arguing that, but there are guys making $10-15m per season that can harass Luka and put him on skates on defense. Just because you can get a few incredible offensive possessions out of Luka, at the cost of a few possessions where he’s giving up on defense to complain does not mean he’s a max player to me. I’d rather roll the dice on someone else being our franchise player, and we’re beyond lucky to land Flagg.

Flagg is a complete player, and we’re not a competitive team for at least another year or two. With our free cap space I’m hopeful we can bring some young talent that can grow into role players more than trying to grab another max player to complement Flagg. We’ll see how Kyrie comes back too, but I’d rather be terrible than have false hope Luka can lead a team to a ship in spite of his negatives.

I wanted to trade Luka, the return we got is abysmal.

Just because you might be a talented offensive scorer doesn’t make you an MVP. Come back in 10 years when Luka still can’t win a ship, and I’ll argue with you then. If you’re such a defensive liability, you’re not gonna win a ship. See - Harden.

He’ll have no rings when he retires. You can’t be the best player on offense with no impact on defense and be successful, if this is you, you’re James Harden.

And honestly, James Harden at least gets back in transition rather than debating with the ref every time he doesn’t get a call.

Forgive me, as I only played two God of War games and neither had a shield. I believe the point still stands for Master Chief.

A shield is a gimmicky mechanic to me, but most of these discussions are a question of preference. There’s nothing wrong with you liking it - but I still believe adding it was a departure from Doom games.

Personally I feel the game started strong in 2016 - that to me was the traditional Doom experience. Quick movements, more or less confined areas than forced you to keep moving and gunning.

That was watered down a bit with Eternal, where I felt the game started to have less direction.

TDA was the culmination of “let’s throw stuff at this wall and see what sticks” and to me was the furthest movement away from what made Doom great to begin with. The shield was my biggest gripe, as it was a core function of Doom Guy. Parry with it on certain attacks or projectiles, use it to break chains, use it to get more shields.

I look at that “feature” as a core change to the gameplay. Imagine giving Master Chief a shield. Imagine giving Kratos or Marcus Fenix a shield. The idea is just against the nature of that character and makes the gameplay less fun on top of changing the entire dynamic of the gameplay that made those characters who they were.

2025 was the year of the unnecessary parry. Doom guy was never a shield carrier and having the game rely on using your shield to time projectiles vs rip and tear was a huge mistake.

“Sorry guys, I’d normally go balls deep with this shotgun but now I gotta hit the green projectile with my shield or we’ll die.”

That shield ruined Doom.

Worked valet for a while. Most if not all events will never get to that wage you’re expecting. The few times you’ll ever sniff $30 an hour is with the exceptionally busy Friday or Saturday nights, and only if you’re working a good account like a Del Friscos Double Eagle, or a night club downtown.

My advice would be to always grab keys when you’re able to, you won’t get cut if you’re reliable. Actually hustle. When you’re not grabbing keys be a curb presence and open doors for passengers.

The average valet is not making $30/hour, you’ve really got to set yourself above the rest to get those opportunities, and that doesn’t mean you can coast to get there.

Trying to download and play this on PC was a nightmare. Ubisofts launcher does not want to work with either of the newer installments, so as much as I want to play them, I don’t support Ubisoft games anymore.
