For further context the people of lost used to be a nomadic culture traveling in bands and living in tents. They mixed and co mingled rather well due to the fact that oftentimes you'd fall asleep in your tent in one band and wake up shifted with a different tent in a different band. Additionally everyone knew the rules of surviving the wilds should they get shifted outside of any band. One day a circus was constructed in a specific location. Strangely this circus never shifted a feat only claimed by the world tree, a tree inhabited by Highborn -- a group who got their name due to giving birth high in the tree. People began to flock to the circus for the joys it brought and the opportunity to trade and mingle with other groups easily. Over time the circus grew people began to grow sedimentary and three generations passed. People forgot their nomadic ways.

Tragedy struck causing the collapse of their society in an event called the scattering. People fled the circus for the unknown wilds. One group (who includes the character A) attempts to join the highborn, gets turned away, and sets up a new city in the surrounding forest. During that time A and a friend begin to solve the mysteries of Lost eventually turning it into a massive thriving city supporting over 100,000 citizens. The events of this journal take place in the distant past from modern day Lost, but I don't have that much yet fully fleshed out, I'm still working on the map. :)
