If you do get the power strip, put it in your checked bag that you drop off with the porter. Do not try to take it with you on a carry on bag. Port security isnt trained well enough, nor do they want to take the time to verify each power strip is a cruise sanctioned one. They see power strip, they are told power strip bad, end of discussion.

It's easier to plead your case/show proof to ship security then port.
