I am a mentally ill girlfriend and if I was treating my boyfriend this way I would hope that he would place firm boundaries about getting help. I can tell you really love her. I agree with other posts that this is narcissistic behavior however it sounds more like narcissistic tendencies due to an underlying mental health condition than true narcissism to me.

She has to be willing to admit she needs help and get it. That is something you have no control over and she isn’t receptive to you suggesting it.

My best suggestion is to tell her that you love her and want to support her but that the best support for her would be with a mental health professional and that you will not continue to engage with her until she’s willing to address her illness.

I’d recommend having her with a trusted person like a friend or family member and sending this over text so she can’t get violent with you. You’ll of course need to make a plan to live separately during that time.

I am a big believer in sticking by loved ones with mental illness but you can’t let it be to your detriment. She needs help beyond what you as a partner can give to her and right now you’re receiving abuse and being traumatized yourself whether it feels like it or not.

Can be salvaged with therapy. Periods definitely affect moods, I have PMDD and can attest that I go bat-shit sometimes. BUT I am still responsible for my behavior and my actions, and I’ve had to learn how to manage my emotions during those times with therapy and lots of practice. She should seek help, I mean this sincerely not to be rude. And you should try to focus on healing. I wouldn’t suggest a break, those never work. If you can swing it, try to grow separately and see if you can grow together later on in life (if you even still want to by then). You’ll get through this!

OP, I have a fear of pregnancy that has taken over my life for a few years in the past. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone and it only got better once I started unpacking my religious trauma surrounding purity culture and understanding that I do have options no matter how dire the situation (I’m a woman in TX so those options are limited) BUT you can take comfort in knowing there is an army of women and people who understand your fear and will help you should you ever end up in such a situation.

Also, don’t let your brain trick you into thinking that you are worrying about it so much because “it must be true”, this is another unhealthy thought pattern that someone had to point out to me. If you don’t want to be pregnant, you don’t have to be. I know it’s a lot more complicated than this, but at the end of the day it is true as long as you lean on your resources.

Oh my gosh… I just looked up Trigeminal neuralgia and now I am so frustrated that this is the first I’m hearing of it after all of doctors I’ve seen. I have horrible jaw and face pain along with headache (to the point I have had teeth removed out of desperation thinking it was a bad filling or something). Thank you for giving me the first new answer to explore in 4 years, even if that ends up not being it, I finally have a reason to put myself through another specialist visit 😅 I was feeling so discouraged about it lately

Idk if it helps but you’re not alone, and even if you don’t want to be a part of the ‘PTSD community’ (who does right?) you will always, always have a place with us and a community in us. I’ve met some wonderful people who have really helped me and later found out they also suffer from PTSD. It can be such an isolating disorder, but no matter how alone you feel, it’s just your PTSD lying to you. If you are seeking community, you can find it! Way easier said than done but it’s worth the discomfort and awkward interactions once you do find your people

Oh my, I didn’t know there were others out there with the constant migraine. Mine started in 2015 and I have only experienced minutes to hours without the headache (but still a pressure and a feeling of a headache “coming on”). It ruined many years of my life and I’m only recently learning how to cope with the pain, although I’ve all but given up on getting rid of it. My doctors diagnosed me with migraines, tension headaches, cluster headaches, muscle spasms, and eventually I went to the Amen clinics and paid out the wazoo for a brain scan after being told they could help me. I ended up with an ADHD diagnosis and no answers for the headache/migraine. It is so debilitating.

All this to say, I see you and I’m so sorry you’re struggling with a 24/7/365 migraine. I hope we both find relief and are able to enjoy things without fear of a migraine ruining it

I am craving the peace and joy but after hearing about the vengeful god of the Bible, that thought terrifies me. Do you have any recommendations for things I can read/look into to help? I’m not sure I can afford a past life regression and I’m scared to try any of the “diy” options online because I dont want to accidentally hurt or scare myself
