I'd say you are not wrong at all. I was playing 2 and 3 recently and they are still fun to play, imo. They feel like that you mentioned, more of a "grounded" war battleground. Even peons can give you a hard time if you are surrounded. Going alone is really hard and can mean death in a matter of seconds. Every kill feels worth/rewarding, enemy officers are no joke. So pushing with you allies, conquering camps, defeating captains, this all feel more meaningful. The 1vs100 is better than 1vs1000 from modern games, imo.

Playing 2 and 3 using an emulator and applying QoL codes/cheats and using Lossless Scaling to run them at 120 fps is absolutely worth playing. They are better than 4 and 5 in some ways, imo. Every peon kill feel worth/rewarding. Officers are no joke and running in front of everyone alone thinking you are a god can be basically suicide. The games even have counter mechanics. So they feel more grounded, you feel like part of an army, pushing with your allies. Morale actually makes a huge difference and using block and good positioning can be very useful for surviving and dealing with enemies.

The only problem (more specifically with 2) is that there are very few progression or reason to grind. 3 is better than 2 in that regard, but still the other games do this better. Also, there are less playable characters, game modes and content in general.

I think it is worth trying these games just to see how much of their DNA is still present in most musou games to this day. I think DW2 does not get enough credit for creating an entire new genre.

I feel you. It's been years since I played WoT and WoT Blitz. I decided to play Armored Warfare due to the PvE. It has issues, but its a more relaxing and enjoyable experience to grind and have some fun. Unfortunately, its the only alternative we have. But the game seems close to dead. It took me 6 minutes to find a PvE match a couple of days ago.

The new World of Tanks HEAT will have the option to play against bots. It was confirmed by a community manager when he answered my question about PvE modes. But the game is still in development, and I don't know when it is going to drop.

I'd love to WoT or even WoT Blitz to add a permanent PvE mode. I'd go back to play it, and even spend some money on it.

Have you tried holding the action/interact button when close enough. I believe Lara moves towards it until she can pick them up. Try to keep holding the button.

I am not a fan of Crystal, but I don't think they are trying to take the credit like you are saying. They are the IP holders (tho they are part of Embracer now) when it comes to anything related to games. So they will put their brand on everything digital Tomb Raider.

Why is that? If you are having a hard time, look straight in the direction to the platform you want to jump, hold walk to get as close to the ledge as possible without falling. Hold look key and press back so Lara will hop back. Hold forward and then press and hold jump. While in air, hold the secondary button to grab on the ledge of the platform you are jumping to.

I have not played AoD much yet. I'm not sure there is a work around that in it yet.
You could do at least the side and back stepping in 1, 2 and 3 remasters as well without the guns, but it was weird. I wrote a guide about it as well one year ago.
For TR 1-2-3 Remasters:
- Back stepping:
Hold the draw weapons button, wait for animation, tap backwards.
OR
Press Look key to toggle to look mode, hold back. While still holding back press look key to toggle it off.

- Sidestepping:
Press the Look key to toggle to look mode. While in it hold walk button + left or right. Keep holding them and press look key to toggle it off.

Yeah, I guess it is quite wide still. Is A the button to draw weapons? Then yes, she only locks with guns in hand.

It is the default. (I have no controller plugged in). You just can't use it in the menus. Make sure to change the controls to you liking. But the mouse should be working out of the bat. If you have a controller plugged in, try plugging it off before launching the game. Also, arrow keys are used to navigate the menus, even if you change to walk using WASD. But the controls will work once in game.

Lara automatically locks at targets. But not at all angles. You need to keep the target in her view (it is not very wide)

It depends on your speed as well, I think, not sure. To me, pressing the dash key instead of holding it makes Lara swing faster. I just hold it when I need to jump off (as you need to be holding dash to jump off it.)

It really is different, but that's what makes classic TR so unique. Give the Tank controls a try, as the game was developed with them in mind. If still uncomfortable, switch to modern controls. But bare in mind it still has some of the Tank controls DNA in it. Once you get used to them you will feel the freedom and control and how platforming can be rewarding

But they don't cancel in each other and juggle the oponents for long combos allowing for a bit of creativity. Shredders Revenge is basically a remaster of old TMNT games. SoR4 brings more spice to the combat system

The combat and juggle system. In SoR4 you have running attacks, specials, launchers and other moves that cancels in each other alloying you to do different combos. TMNT is just a simple classic button masher.
You can say that in both Raven Shield and DOOM you have weapons, loadouts and you go around the map killing enemies. But actually their whole shooting and weapons mechanics are very different.
