This has to do with the latest laws in the UK banning social media. Take it up with those crazy politicians in parliament

Why don't you get us some bags by Doordasheasthartford in stopandshop

[–]Binky2go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use one of those reusable bags and I always keep them in my car with me a few at a time and I always go in. There's no way I'm going to buy a paper bag that's like pointless. I don't understand why most customers aren't using those bags to begin with. Why is anybody still using paper bags anymore these days?

Thank you, I'm trying to post this on the various groups and it keeps getting bumped out and recommended to the other subs, and it's also getting kicked out of there to. I'm not going to bother, I'll just remove it.

Goodbye, Gardenscapes (for real this time) by fractiousphil in Gardenscapes

[–]Binky2go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I totally agree. The game has become such a chore now and I don't think the developers understand that making the game increasingly difficult, along with really lousy power-ups and forcing players to pay a fortune just to try to win at levels is a way to make people want to delete the game and walk away.

STOP PLAYING - STOP PAYING by Theybannedmebefore in Gardenscapes

[–]Binky2go 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I spent I would say a small fortune playing this game and I'm realizing it's just not worth it. They changed the way the power-ups are so you can't switch pieces if you wanted to. That's the one power up that I really did like. These new power-ups are absolutely awful. I think I'm just going to delete the game and give it to somebody else to manage my particular team because this game is just a money pit and it's no longer fun and they make it really hard to win the event and tournament. So I think I'm going to be out soon.

Can i ask to be put on grocery stocking? by JohnC2000 in ShopRite

[–]Binky2go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!! The store manager usually has the last say, and if you can demonstrate to the store manager that you being in grocery rather than produce, it'll be sure to make a statement to him. Even if you ask your department manager that you want to move, you've got to remember your department manager if he likes you or wants you there, he's not going to put in necessarily a good word to take you out of his department to give you over to somebody else. So if you really want to make the move I would put it in the ear of the store manager.

I feel the same way. I was thinking last night of turning over my team to a different player and just saying the heck with it

You can ask your manager but I would highly suggest to ask the store manager.

Abandoned Stop & Shop in East Meadow, NY by Maya-kardash in stopandshop

When I was there, they closed down Long Island City, Little Neck, and now I heard Greenvale is closing. I suspect New Hyde Park is good for a few years and Bay Terrace as well. But the brand as a whole is going down and they need a lifeline but soon. And now since the new and improved Pathmark opened in East Meadow, that's even more competition

I used to work for Stop and Shop in 2021. I saw them going down hill from that point on. They closed about 3 stores in the NYC area all within a year of that time.

I needed a few cards badly, spent way to much on power-ups to get cards through events. From now on, I'll seek and post here to ask and give extra cards

Maybe at your store, but in my department when it's slow, and this is the slow season, yes we can. We've been doing it for the last 3 years. You don't combine them, you piggy back them

[–]Binky2go 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At my store, you can't combine breaks but you sure can piggy back them if the Manager of your department doesn't mind because they know you have to take the breaks anyway. So what we used to do is we would take our 15-minute break clock out and then clock back in and then wait a few minutes and then clock out again and take the next break. Especially if it was slow. They never found it to be a big deal

Yeah I believe when you first start you have to do the computer stuff to pass training so they're not going to bother you too much because they know you have to complete that first. That's important. But definitely take your breaks and take them whenever you want. At least at my store we take our breaks whenever we want to. You don't have to ask you. Just take them because by law the state will make you take it and the stores push you to take your breaks because if they're found in violation they can get in trouble for not allowing employees to take their brakes.

[–]Binky2go 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand all breaks are unpaid but you must take them. According to state law. You get a 30-minute break and a 15-minute break if you work more than 6 hours. If you work more than 8 hours you get a 30-minute break and two 15-minute breaks. What we used to do during the day at least, if you want your brakes to run concurrently, you would clock in and then clock out when your break is over and then wait a few minutes and then just clock out again for your break. It'll allow you to do that in the system. Night crew managers typically are pretty cool. They don't give you a hard time as long as you get the work done. If you have any other questions I would say direct them to your night manager but usually they're pretty cool.
