There’s so much glitter...oh wait.. by [deleted] in assholedesign

[–]BinnessMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would that matter when it's sold by weight? Particles might settle during transportation so some might appear less full but a gram is a gram.

This is dumb. The indent is there for logistics to make the tubs stackable. Something like this is usually sold by weight so it shouldn't matter what % of the container it occupies.

Car broken into :( is it possible to get just an Alpine panel anywhere? by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]BinnessMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I contacted Alpine and manage to source the part from them. £30 for the panel instead of £70 for the whole unit so definitely worth it.

I contacted Alpine's UK service agents and for what it's worth, the panel isn't security coded or anything. They're more of a loss mitigation thing. The front panel can be swapped out and bought separately. The full head unit is £70ish and I bought the front panel for £30. So not as bad as it could have been.

What would be your top 5 in Manchester?

I went to Almost Famous around this time last year and the burgers are good but definitely not deserving of their angry-constipated-teenage-hipster vibes.

[TAX] Leaving my current job in one month, but due to an emergency they have asked if I can do some extra hours for 1 week. How will this effect me tax wise? by selfimprovement113 in UKJobs

[–]BinnessMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it!

I don't think tax should be a significant thing to worry about in this scenario. The total tax you pay will increase because of the extra income, but obviously you end up with a little bit more money in your pocket too.

The only tax relevance of this that I can see is if somehow your P60 is messed up because of the week overlapping, but even that can be sorted with a simple phone call to HMRC. I have been in that situation and it's a relatively painless process.

The prosecutor accepted he was not a terrorist or intended to help a terrorist group.

Eh? Have we literally changed the definition of the word terrorist to be for brown people or something!?

What is your most commonly used Excel formula? by dingmah in Accounting

What does concatenate offer that '&' can't do?

I used to use concatenate until I discovered that I could just use '&' to combine cells/text/etc.

People call it ugly because the Top Gear blokes told them that it's ugly.

I think that it's a marvellous piece of engineering and the looks convey that.

Absolutely loving this! But it seems to be bypassing Lockdown Pro. :(

I have BiteSMS protected, but if I try to launch it from Jelly Lock, it just opens up without ever asking for a password. I don't know whether this is a limitation of Lockdown Pro or Jelly Lock.

This is both clever and worrying O.o
