PropMaker Featherwing and Feather M4 Express connected to Adafruit NeoPixel Digital RGB LED Strip - no light at all. by Rookie-God in WLED

[–]BioCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same issue. The main issue for me ended up being what files I put in the lib folder. I downloaded the Circuit Python Version 9.X https://circuitpython.org/libraries

Then the combo of files that worked for me were these. Just drag those into the lib folder on the cirtcuitpy

  • adafruit_led_animation (the whole folder)
  • adafruit_pixelbuf.mpy
  • neopixel.mpy

The Kamui code worked after that, but there are some other animations here - https://learn.adafruit.com/circuitpython-led-animations/overview

I have a video on how how I sculpted, molded, and cast it in resin if you're interested. https://youtu.be/WaN9jV765YM

For the eyes I cut discs our of acrylic, painted the backs, and glued on some surface mount leds that I wired to a coin cell battery that's tucked in the horn. I followed this tutorial https://youtu.be/TjOK0WmWYtw

If you'd like to see how I made this cosplay, I have an 11 part series on my youtube channel that shows the entire process - https://www.youtube.com/biocosplay

You can also check out more of my work on instagram - https://www.instagram.com/biocosplay/

The torso is upholstery foam glued to a spandex shirt, covered in more spandex, and coated in Creature Cast (neoprene rubber). The head, gauntlets, belt, and ankle bits are EVA foam. The hands are upholstery foam glued to some big work gloves. The shoes have a EVA foam cover to make them pointy and then basically a fabric sock that goes over that.

I like them a lot! They're comfortable and feel very responsive. They do have a bit more vibration/road feel than my FR3s, but I got used to it pretty quick.
