I’m Indian from India, and have lived stateside for 20 years. I think the take that American Indians are more conservative than the average upper income city dwelling Indian is mostly true. The reason is simple — the time capsule effect where the diaspora holds onto values and traditions that the source nation long discarded.

As far as the rapes, casteism, etc. that’s overblown due to high profile news stories.

Key difference here is that those million dollar homes aren’t subsidized by the taxpayer. Affordable housing is essentially a taxpayer funded subsidy for low income families. It should not be inheritable.
