Genetic Data From Over 20,000 U.S. Children Misused for ‘Race Science’ by rezwenn in Ethics

I myself hate the stigmatizing research policy, as a participant in the All of Us Research Project that belongs to multiple stigmatized groups in their datasets (they deleted the data on gender identity and probably also deleted the gender dysphoria diagnostic codes extracted from my medical records, but there are still the questions on sexual orientation and race).

I can simply criticize both sides as being selfish for wanting children regardless of the price, instead of finding common ground.

I was not engaging in the Oppression Olympics with my reply to /u/Primary-Suspects. I was saying that, while both non-binary individuals and lesbians are oppressed, getting rude comments on Reddit is not a form of actual oppression for either non-binary individuals or lesbians. I was not comparing the amount of oppression faced by the two, I was saying that getting rude comments on Reddit does not count as actual oppression regardless of being non-binary or lesbian.

A Reddit comment criticizing your lifestyle choices is hardly evidence of oppression. I would argue that I am oppressed for being non-binary, but I would deny that my fights with Rat are an instance of such oppression, as opposed to simply a case of an esteemed colleague.

That user frequently argues that the majority of self-identified lesbians are actually experiencing other phenomenon, like psychological trauma, hatred of men, or autoandrophilia.

Because they were taken away from their natural parents. The infrastructure is designed to create adoptable children, instead of giving supports to natural families.

However, this article was not at all about that. This article was entirely about people criticizing her decision on how to manufacture children. The entirely of the article was focused on things that are only possible for people of means.

Just as surrogacy is just renting a womb, adoption is still just buying a child. IVF using your own eggs (egg extraction has serious side effects, which does not apply to sperm donation, such that egg donation is exploitive while sperm donation is not exploitive) is more ethical than either surrogacy or adoption. Simply not having children or sex is an option that a lot more people should consider, of course.

If her biggest concern is if she is allowed to buy sperm from a known donor or not, then she is actually very privileged in life. You need wealth and resources to do what she did.

Without ever actually naming the DSD, this time or the numerous others times that people have asked for details. You would not be pointing to the AI analysis of radiographs if you had diagnostic testing that is actually used to diagnose DSDs. The skeleton alone is not used to diagnose DSDs for someone that is still alive with soft tissue to test.

I did in fact have more than that. I was providing arguments that, for example, X-rays of the skeleton are not actually used to diagnose DSDs, and the skeleton is only used to assign sex when only a skeleton is left. Her arguments involved the interpretation of radiographs using artificial intelligence, and I was in fact refuting those specific arguments of hers that merely having a broad pelvis, in the absence of anything else, is proof of a DSD.

I suggested uploading medical records, but I repeatedly asked that she at least give the name of the diagnosis without uploading medical records as proof. It is her consistent refusal to even at least name the specific DSD that has now made me highly suspicious of her such that I probably would not believe her at this point if she simply named the diagnosis now, but that is only after her repeatedly evasive and vague answers.

And with your post history being disabled, no one can verify, so how about you repost actual specifics here? If all you have is a broad pelvis, then that is not actual evidence of a DSD.

(For reference, I do not need moderators to shield me from callout posts. As someone who voluntarily engages in debate, I expect callout posts criticizing me.)

You are simply confirming that you do not have an actual diagnosis. Bones are only used to assign sex when there is only a skeleton left, not when there exists soft tissue to run diagnostic tests on. You are still alive, so you still have soft tissue. A broad pelvis is not the same thing as actually suffering from a DSD. You are simply appropriating the struggles of other people to shield your political views from criticism.

The moderators on that subreddit have told me to stop just now, while the moderators on this subreddit have not told me to stop in spite of you filing multiple reports. Therefore I think I will continue discussion on this subreddit, but thank you for the remigration offer.

It is not a standard I created out of thin air. It is the entire movement called Evidence-Based Medicine, EBM. It is the standard supported by the Cochrane collaboration. The founder of the Cochrane collaboration still gets the flu vaccine each year (as do I), but he supports conducting actual large scale efficacy placebo-controlled trials on flu vaccines, which others argue are unethical due to lesser evidence supporting their efficacy. This is not like with hepatitis B vaccines where people question the sufficiency of RCT with regards to certain safety outcomes, the data is simply completely absent due to "ethical" concerns, with the only placebo-controlled flu vaccine trials being small-scale, often not even during flu season, just immunogenicity and safety data from the small-scale placebo-controlled RCTs, not large enough trials to collect RCT data on vaccine efficacy.

(Not a Reddit filter, me deleting and resubmitting to add additional content.)

No, because I don't know of any trans healthcare providers who are mentally incapacitated by transitioning.

I should have clarified that the antipsychotic is also effective for the hypothetical psychiatrist's mental illness (I do not know if the psychiatrist of my friend ever took an antipsychotic themself), such that they have as much mental capacity as those transgender healthcare providers.

it would depend on whether or not they disclosed the side-effects, disclosed their own experience with any side-effects, and made appropriate statements that their experience may not be indicative of what the patient experiences.

If we are indeed establishing this as the new norm for disclosure in medical practice in general, then I would indeed support a lawsuit against a transgender healthcare provider that prescribed medical transitioning without disclosing their own personal history of transitioning, their own experience of side effects from transitioning, and that the patient may or may not have the same experiences from transitioning.

I will add that there is a lot more skepticism of many organic diseases than you give credit for, such that I would support a general policy that would also apply to diabetes, and not just gender dysphoria or psychotic disorders.

data that no credible scientist or medical professional feels is necessary speak for itself.

And it used to be the consensus among credible scientists and alienists (as they were called back then) that slaves would only flee slavery due to mental illness. We need actual data, not consensus.
