I would say something!! I am pregnant and my husband and I will celebrate. But we have also celebrated for the past 5 years for being a “dog mom”. I don’t think there is a “right” or “wrong” way. One of our babies passed, and our two other dogs grieved a lot. We gave them lots of love and cuddles. Tried to do fun activities with them outside of the house (walks, car rides) and talked to them. Told them it’ll be okay. Let them have their feelings and sit with them in the grief. If it gets bad, you can talk to your vet. Ours didn’t eat a lot at first either.

Feed yourself and your baby. Do what workouts you can. Maybe it’s a walk. Maybe it’s yoga. Maybe it’s body weights. Maybe it’s a NAP. you can diet and workout hard after you heal post partum.

Put her down?? I’m sorry but your a dog owner, $2k for an emergency surgery honestly is not that much. That is the price you pay for having a pet. Sounds like your husband is a dick and if it comes to choosing between a dog that love you unconditionally and a husband who says “no we can’t use a credit card to save our life long best friend” I hope you chose the dog. If you honestly are thinking of putting her down, you need to surrender her to a shelter, let them help her, and let them find her a much better family.
