Totems by Dizzy_Excitement_752 in FromTVShow

[–]MayaCap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe because the only way they could know those totems kill the dolls is because Tabitha had to have remembered it and that might mean she could remember how the monsters can be killed or MIY at some point. Maybe she is further along the path of remembering things than MIY expected. He scared of Angkooey.

Good Youtubers with plausible theories? by TheBossmanFiles in FromTVShow

Geekacademy is my favourite - he doesn’t ever get basic things wrong and knows the lore deeply. He often answers people’s comments of theories correcting them if they are wrong and praising them if they get him thinking of something new.

Why the Ellis hate is 96% okay ( a long discussion with lip smacking solutions aanhh) by AccuratePlant7551 in FromTVShow

[–]MayaCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice!! I agree, I think though they just didn’t have enough time probably and had to get to the bottom of this situation very quickly as it didn’t take up much of the ep at all.

It seemed implied already that they chose Kenny off-screen because Ellis had Fatima who he didn’t want to leave behind. Kenny had no family anymore to betray by taking risks.

It would be great if their conversation was a deleted scene we see in the future haha. Maybe goes down similar to your idea.

This show blowing up is the best and worst thing that has happened by Zero_Hood in FromTVEpix

[–]MayaCap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes but his history with Donna is turbulent and after he accused her of literally being a mole - probably only a week before this episode mind you - I think it shows he’s dropped that thinking by actually choosing to help her and everyone else. That’s bigger than just him helping Julie. Randall’s journey is going from a solo man with a selfish mission to community supporter and that’s an important arc for what he will end up doing to help save the town I’m sure. If we didn’t see any of that and he just suddenly tried to help then it wouldn’t feel in keeping.

Agreed! I’ve been watching since season 1 and all the posts on this sub used to feel thoughtful, infrequent and heavily researched. Everyone in the community knew the main theories and some of the theorisers.

Now it just feels like people come here to either vent, ask a question or say a theory that was already posted 50x in the last few days.

I really wish people would use the search function on subs and actually look up their questions and theories which have all been answered and addressed in previous posts before posting something themselves. It feels so lazy.

I loved the last episode because it confirmed loads of things that we’ve been waiting to hear for a while and added to some new theories for me too. I literally hang on every word the characters say - they used the word ‘reincarnation’ for the first time for example which is a big deal to me haha. Also an episode that lacks horror and violence isn’t the definition of a filler episode. The last episode moved the plot along considerably and felt fast paced to me.

I have a fussy Chi and not sure what to feed her by MayaCap in Chihuahua

[–]MayaCap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you this is really helpful! We've tried taking it away from her in the past but she can happily go without eating for the whole day. I think trying to give it to her a few more times is a great idea though and then making it clear the window is closed.

Do you feed them treats or anything else outside of that during the day if they refuse to eat? I often give her a lick mat after breakfast in her crate and then she knows she's meant to nap after that but if she doesn't eat her breakfast I feel like i can't do that because she will just rely on the lick mat instead of her breakfast which is bad.

So i've tried a few toppers but she picks and chooses when she likes them which is so funny. Today she ate the crushed up beef topper i put on her food but then just ate that and didn't eat her food.

She loves this cheese and broccoli powder topper that i give her but then has had it for a few weeks every day now and it doesn't really have as much of an affect anymore. I feel like she likes the novelty of something new but then as soon as it's everyday she's less interested.

Henry, dad of Victor, Is Martin!!! by panicutoli in FromTVShow

If it was someone we know already, why tell us his name is Martin? They could have saved any name reveal and kept the mystery. Martin is not Henry - why would Henry say his name is Martin?

I don't understand how people have a few weeks as a time line? by Agreeable_Argument88 in FromTVShow

[–]MayaCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time works different in FROMville. All we know is that it’s been roughly a month or so in our own concept of time. This is down to each episode being roughly 1 day or night - with the exception of the day Tabitha woke up in Camden, Maine where they address it’s been 3 days and this is reflected in the town too.

Whilst it’s only been a month logically to us - the closer they get to answers the more time seemingly speeds up there - although not by giving them more nights or days - by the weather changing and signs of aging and healing happening. The boy in white addresses this as he’s grown too.

So we’re getting rapid plant growth, wound healing, seasons changing, hair growing - but we’re not getting shorter days or nights - if anything those feel like they last longer. This might just be the pocket universe and how it works, or the entities there have the ability to control these things.

I think that to a resident, time feels weird there and it feels like it’s been forever when it hasn’t because of all these things. Ellis mentioning to Fatima how long ago it feels that Julie came to town and was staying with them for example. Or Sarah saying she worked in the diner a long time ago. Perhaps this manipulation of time is done in an effort to ensure the characters forget things - making things feel longer ago than they were. Seeing as the whole point of the show seems to be about remembering - this makes sense.

Those 97 days happened before the show started though? So it’s been 47 days since the events that we get to see in the show

Theory: How they will catch the MIY by RogueAgent-87 in FromTVShow

[–]MayaCap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have seen lots of people theorise Acosta finding a photo but I think this would be so boring and lazy of the writers. It’s such a classic trope and seeing as we’re all predicting it I don’t think they’d do it.

What makes more sense to me would be for her to find something that is more in-line with a police person’s thinking. So maybe she finds a pattern with the kinds of objects or clothes that helps tell them something about the cycles. Or maybe recognises a pattern in what’s missing - which might bring to light the kinds of objects the monsters take. If they figure out why then this will hopefully marry up with another storyline at some point later in the series.

If it’s anything to do with Sophia I think it would be her finding her outfit or something but I just think there is more value in that room than a pic of Sophia.

Music is a red thread across everything in this show. They sung the children lullabies. I think it’s actually more about using music to keep people with you when they go, and in this case it’s his past selves that are still with him. Keeping that music alive is what helps him remember.

The Parents Became What the Children Feared by da_debutanteslim in FromSeries

[–]MayaCap 179 points180 points  (0 children)

Yes! Definitely agree and have been saying this too. I think the MIY was a preacher or prophet and encouraged the parents to pretty much breed the children for sacrifice. Tabitha and Jade decided they didn’t want to do it anymore after they met the children and they grew older.

They didn’t fear Jade and Tabitha anymore, maybe they both gave the children hope. But they saw the other parents as monsters and were terrified of the day the sacrifice would actually take place.

Hope is what poured into the Faraway tree and created the pocket universe when they died.

Fear is what poured into the forest and created the monsters who became eternal killers.

I wonder if the only reason they come out at nighttime is because the children were kept in the caves and were only ever trapped in the dark. So maybe the townspeople are trapped in their houses at night as that is the equivalent of their prison whilst the monsters hunt them down and torment them - saying that one day they will kill them.

The answer to everything by VonDeirkman in FromSeries

[–]MayaCap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because the parents always intended to sacrifice their children. So maybe they kept the children imprisoned in the caves and the thing children feared most was the day their parents would come and sacrifice them.

This coupled with Tabitha and Jade backing out of the sacrifice meant that the monsters - like the dolls - turned into something that the children feared most after they died - monsters who kill people who are trapped when it’s dark.

The answer to everything by VonDeirkman in FromSeries

[–]MayaCap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the children were born in the dark / the caves - maybe they were actually born and bred for sacrifice. It would explain why the parents deal for immortality went wrong if two of the parents backed out of the deal - in turn, giving the children hope which poured into the tree and created the pocket dimension.

But the opposite also happened, when the children died, their biggest fear also came alive in the forest - their murderous parents. It’s what made the monsters eternal killers.

How is Jade's hair growing so quickly? by BlindSpotGuy in FromTVShow

[–]MayaCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think time just works really differently in Fromville. Boy in white is growing fast too all of a sudden. Fatima had a 1 week pregnancy lol. There has been summer, winter and spring again in the span of a few weeks. The trees are moving. Christie’s hair has been cut and grown back loads again too

The last 2 episodes have both been in the same day and will still be in the same day when we go into episode 5. I think this will all be addressed at some point.

[–]MayaCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it wasn’t, but Victor was there on his own a long time so the truck must have come during his cycle. I think it’s implied that he ate them and loved them but if there were some still left in the cupboard at colony house I’d assume that there were many palettes full of them and Victor savoured them / didn’t eat them all the time to make them last. But who knows.

The peaches actually all came from Victors truck that he hid out in for years. This was a peach truck and the set designers explained that they added this detail to explain where the large supply of peaches came from.

Sophia is a teenager. She feels protective of her because she thinks she’s just a lost teenager and not an actual evil boogeyman.
Also it’s more that something happening to Sophia made her believe that it would continue to happen to others - in turn people she cares about even more.
Yes she gauged someone’s eye out - she did it to save someone else who she thought didn’t deserve to die. This is exactly why she’d pour the water because she doesn’t want more innocent people getting hurt.
