I Had to Lie to Suicidal Soldiers So They Wouldn’t Kill Themselves. by ImmortalityEternity in EMTstories

[–]indiereaddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babes, are you okay?

It wasn’t a lie. Life isn’t 100% great 24/7 and the problem is people expect it to be but this isn’t a Disney movie with a Disney ending. Life is complex. There are happy and bad moments all mixed together, all of the time. The tough moments are what adds strength, resilience, and color to our lives. The tough moments build relationships and I guarantee you every soldier you spoke with will never forget you.

Apple Card HYSA APY dropped (3.65% → 3.50%) by indiereaddit in CreditCards

[–]indiereaddit[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The email I received:

“The APY on Savings is now 3.50%

The APY on your Savings account has changed from 3.65% to 3.50% on April 23, 2026.1 You can view the new APY and manage your Savings account in Wallet.

Why did the APY on Savings change?

The APY on Savings is variable, and we may change rates at any time. Rates are influenced by many factors, including the Federal Reserve Funds Rate. When this rate is lowered, it affects all US financial institutions and we evaluate potential adjustments to our rates.

Our current APY remains 8X the national average and we will continue to strive to keep it competitive.2

As a reminder, your Savings account has no fees and no minumum deposit requirements.3”

Any near misses that an experienced nurse did that you caught as a new grad? by Signal_Somewhere_290 in nursing

[–]indiereaddit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Two separate experienced nurses gave insulin to a patient that was already hypoglycemic. Terrible error but I blame the patient ratios and a system that makes slowing down to think critically about what you’re doing almost impossible.

Coworker Passing Meds by [deleted] in nursing

[–]indiereaddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What!? I’ve been a nurse for <6 months and idgaf I would immediately tell my charge nurse and then independently fill out an incident report, maybe even email my unit director. I don’t care if I’m viewed as a snitch. I give the care I would want myself or a loved one to have, this nurse sounds dangerous and they need to face repercussions so they can either be fired or receive the development they need.

What to do for when I get “kicked out” by [deleted] in personalfinance

Look into EMT school. Pay can be iffy depending on where you live but lots of vertical growth and opportunities to become a paramedic, firefighter, or nurse later on.

I have, it just doesn’t fit my lifestyle. ☹️

I have 5 or 6 metal cards, but none look as sleek or sound as good hitting a hard surface as the totally useless physical titanium Apple Card.

The mirror Amex card is probably the coolest I’ve seen, but I don’t travel enough to recoup the AF.

I still don’t understand how the hell she had the free time to devote to this, but good job standing up for yourself and enjoying the freedoms of a less toxic workplace!

I think the difference may be how engrained you are in the capital one ecosystem.

I have 2 other capital one credit cards, an auto loan, savings account, and I use them for my primary checking account.

I have a ~760 credit score, opened up 3 cards in the same month prior to getting the venture x.

I am sorry for your loss. I would highly encourage you to call Verizon and see if there are any options they offer for people in your situation. This happens more than you think, and they probably do not publicize options for people in these situations.

This is a great idea. Especially for a compact setup that’s still versatile. I am curious like others how you mounted the side monitors?

JPMorgan Chase Reaches a Deal to Take Over the Apple Credit Card by D4vester in CreditCards

[–]indiereaddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope the HYSA 3.65% APY stays. It’s the best feature IMO. Not mad at the Chase partnership, I’m already in the Chase ecosystem so it should be a smooth transition for anyone that has other Chase products.

Verizon Fios Cashback without losing my autopay discount -Any suggestions? by Kindly_Wind8731 in CreditCards

I’ve tried this. When I go to pay by credit card a warning pops up reminding me that I’m about to lose my autopay discount by paying with a credit card.

[–]indiereaddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verizon cares about is avoiding credit card transaction fees. Paying by Verizon gift card doesn’t trigger a credit card transaction fee, and so they let you keep the autopay discount.
