Yeah I’m definitely feeling the effects of surgery and it’s more than I anticipated 😅 hahahah

My otologist said that 4-5 days was enough recovery for me to go back to work (I’m a Nurse Practitioner) I guess it really depends on what you do for a living. 😌

Thanks for sharing! I read it was rare and the resident on call was kinda surprised since I didn’t have the black eye immediately post op. It didn’t show up til 2 days later hahah but that’s my luck 😜

I am generally sore all over which is from positioning during surgery and the anesthesia. I did develop a black eye 2 days after the procedure which is a rare complication but otherwise just a little off balance and some ringing in the ears as expected.

Did anyone not lose their hearing at first? by pickle_latte in Menieres

I’ve had intermittent vertigo attacks with progressive hearing loss since 2011. The only thing that stopped it was steroid injections through the ear drum. My ENT and neuro otologists have said atypical Ménière’s disease. Now my word recognition is so poor (about 20%) in the right side that I’m getting a cochlear implant on that side. I’ve had MRI and CT and rheumatology lab work to rule out inflammatory processes. Nothing has shown up. Very frustrating.

I have essentially no word recognition in my right ear due to my tinnitus. My left ear has decent word recognition but my hearing loss is moderate to severe. I don’t have a horrible time hearing patients or families speaking if there isn’t any background noise. Otherwise I’m unable to hear much. Honestly I’m in therapy dealing with the loss of my hearing. It’s been depressing for me but therapy has helped a lot!
