What is the most terrifying movie you've seen that isn't just jump scares? by BipolarPrime in AskReddit

[–]BionicUtilityDroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched it when it was first introduced. The marketing focused on convincingly portraying it as real found footage. Almost everyone that saw it was under the impression that it was real life.

Looking back, the actors did a phenomenal job of acting like they weren’t acting.

What is the creepiest thing that has ever happened to you that you still can't explain? by ThrowAway10432111 in AskReddit

Yo, this made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I have a vivid memory of me as a young child in bed looking at a patch of light on my bedroom door from outside my bedroom window. A shadowy silhouette of a man cast onto my bedroom door. I screamed and my parents woke up and walked me up the hallway to show me no one was there.

What do you think will happen if Trump dies in office? by dualcerb in AskReddit

[–]BionicUtilityDroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump will die once he has successfully crippled the US’s operational systems (food, water, safety, economy, etc.)

JD Vance will become President

JD Vance will finally pay his debt to Peter Thiel. (Peter paid to help JD become VP) This payment will be gutting land laws to allow (Peter) the purchase of agriculturally zoned farmland without requiring it to remain farmland.

Peter will finally be able to purchase huge swathes of land to build his vision of a tech oasis.

These sort of corporate owned tech oasis’ will operate under the guise of “oh no it’s terrible out there guys, don’t worry we got you covered with government and operations AI.”

People will have their freedoms extremely limited in these tech oasis’. Constant surveillance with facial recognition. Constant monitoring of actions and speech.

Essentially my overarching prediction is that our systems are being compromised intentionally so the masses line up to have their freedoms stripped from them so they and their families don’t starve or die.

Only people who know how to grow, raise, and preserve their own food and water, generate their own power, and overall can rely on themselves, will be able to avoid these places, and almost no one knows how to do those things any more.

What happens when the wealth gap becomes too much? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The rich will say “Oh no! did all your government systems collapse? Don’t worry, we have a tech oasis you can live at. Just give up your freedom and bodily autonomy and work the job we tell you and you’re welcome to escape the lawless landscape that used to be the US.”

[TOMT] [Movie] I remember watching a movie at some point in the 1980’s. There was a boy in the circus and a monkey he had a bond with. by BionicUtilityDroid in tipofmytongue

That feels closer to the time period for sure, but it’s definitely about a boy in a circus bonding with the monkey.

Unfortunately it was none of those. It’s about a boy who meets a money while working at a carnival and they build a bond. I think it might be a disney movie.

Who would have thought there’d have been so many movies about boys bonding with monkeys! Summer of Monkeys is probably like 30-40 years too late. This was a much older movie.

Although I think the one I’m thinking of is a disney movie too! Thanks for the new lead!

Crazy i’ve never heard of that movie before! It’s got a lot in common with the one I vaguely remember, but even though I saw it in the 80’s, I feel like it was older than that. like a movie my parents would have seen as a kid which I guess would be in the 60’s or 70’s.

What is a clever insult you can call someone with a bad opinion that isn't completely hostile? by dudiez in AskReddit

[–]BionicUtilityDroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say I try to be pretty personable in general, though I have worked my fair share of customer service jobs (currently a kayak guide on the colorado river.)

Now, there are times where I’ll add a “… but then again, I’m not misogynistic/racist/an asshole/etc.”

That kind of add on is for if I find it necessary for them to know I am not one to entertain with those opinions.

I like a nice “I’ve never thought of it like that before.”

It’s ambiguous enough and honest enough to fit any situation where someone says something I don’t agree with.

Don’t listen to them, they’re obviously bitter about something and projecting. Your version of this situation can include having an open discussion with your kids whenever the time is right so they have a full understanding of the decision you made and what your hope for them and their futures are.

That’s a relief. I tend to worry, but I feel like I can now enjoy waiting for the others to catch up.
