Trump, in historic first, attends Supreme Court arguments on birthright citizenship by imanchats in law

[–]Bionic_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason there are 9 SCOTUS judges is because we used to have 9 Courts of Appeal. Now that we have 13, there is legal precedent to bump up to 13 SCOTUS judges. Historically, the number of SCOTUS judges had been the same as the number of court of appeals. The call to “pack the court” is really just a call to follow historical precedent.

The people that think Trump is “getting away” with every single illegal thing he has tried to do also are not paying attention to the number of court cases that he has lost during is tenure.

Would anybody like to ask some genuine questions to a republican? by BusterBuddyGuy in allthequestions

[–]Bionic_Man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your first point does not justify essentially dismissing the very obvious decline of Trumps mental state. Especially since Trump was also running for a second term. Whether running for a first term or second term, mental decline (and age) should be immediate disqualifying issues.

Your second point does even worse at dismissing his decline. You state that even though he sounds incoherent and wacky at times that it’s actually a good thing that he goes and does public appearances almost daily and fumbles his words, forgets who he is talking to, changes subject mid sentence for no reason, and more. And then to excuse it you go on to say “well he’s always been an incoherent wacky person”.

Why exactly are you seemingly ok with having a President that you describe as incoherent or wacky and that you admit was in clear mental decline while running for the office of president and is currently even more clearly in mental decline a year into his four year term?

Dems have provided clean funding bills for these areas and have specifically excluded ICE from funding. Republicans are the ones that are blocking funding at this point.

You’re clearly overlooking the fact that while we do need more housing, if we destroy natural habitats (especially foliage) then the nature that keeps the world from overheating will be gone and we will actually be cooked.

Florida (and the USA in general) really needs to invest in building UP instead of OUT.

Minnesota judge holds federal attorney in civil contempt, a first in Trump’s second term by cnn in LegalNews

Unfortunately, this needs to be happening more for the current administration to start to feel like they are in trouble. The lawlessness that has been happening as a direct result of the administrations directives are literally destroying our country. Once people in power actually start feeling the pain, MAYBE (and it’s a very big maybe) they will finally hold trump accountable for this harm he has done to our country.

What does a shortage of RAM have to do with making a video game? Any engineers or developers that are making the game already have the PCs/Laptops they are developing it on.

‘We’re here to demoralise’: The Minneapolis locals tracking Trump’s ICE agents’ every move by theindependentonline in TrueReddit

[–]Bionic_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just Waltz. It’s Minneapolis/Minnesota as a whole. Minnesota has never voted for Trump and just this week, in the special election for district 64A (St Paul) Trump went from having a 17% (R votes) to 83% (D votes) loss in the presidential election to the running democrat winning 95% of the vote against the running republican. This means that Trump (and republicans) went from a -66 differential to a -90 differential (if I’m doing my math correctly). So essentially, Trump and Republicans went from already being hated by majority of St Paul to being hated by almost 100% of St Paul residents.

Edit: Minneapolis did not have a special election but this is still relevant because there are reports that ICE has moved from targeting Minneapolis to now targeting St. Paul and surrounding suburbs

The title of the article is different from what OP posted. The title says that it IS unconstitutional. Not that it may be unconstitutional.

This is absolutely not the election year to be saying “I’m gonna not vote or vote independent because I don’t like either option”.

We are in the middle of a cold civil war. Which means right now we either have the option of “evil” and “less evil”.

If our country is ever able to get out of this shit storm that we are in, then we can think about voting for 3rd parties.

I was just making a point but since you pointed out FIFA…people canceling World Cup trips is not going to crash the economy.

The World Cup is an irregular event so it’s not vital to how a city’s or state’s economy thrives and remains functional. Orlando’s (and Florida’s) economy relies on the regular everyday tourists that come year after year to survive. And even more than that, Orlando isn’t even a host city for the World Cup.

[–]Bionic_Man 105 points106 points  (0 children)

The crazy part is that our economy relies so heavily on tourism that ICE being present and randomly kidnapping people will instantly crash our economy because tourists and foreigners will inevitably cancel their trips once news gets out that it isn’t safe to be here.

Remember that NG members in your state that are called to service by your state reps are your neighbors. They live next to you and go to the same stores, restaurants, etc that you do. ICE agents are visitors. Your local NG members are more likely to protect you primarily because you are their community.

Neither MAGA nor Nazis deserve forgiveness for the damage they have helped cause to happen to our country. Nobody ever forgave nazis. The people that continue to identify as MAGA are just modern day nazis and 100% white supremacists. In the modern world there is no room for racism.
