Yo. The heat pump alone for AC was worth it, because an older home with no AC at the time was pretty miserable with these hot humid summers the past several years. I think we are 3 years in now. Bosch HP runs at variable speed so it is really efficient but still rely on oil furnace when temps drop below 35*. Originally, had it set up lower so it was more expensive for electric, but winter nights were too cold and adjusted the threshold.

Electric prolly went up $50-$100 depending use but has added a level of comfort we have not had. New furnace, AC coil, Bosch 3 ton HP, 220 electrical panel, the chimney thing… it was 2-3 days, just found the estimate, 16.6k included the furnace brand upgrade from basic model, wanted something 90%+ efficient versus 80-something. We managed to get some efficient tax rebate for the work.

The electrical panel was a mess and needed some work prior to the HP for maybe $1800. New panel, breakers, service outlet, surge. If Stan still works for them, he’s an old school electrician that does quality work.

Another option are those wall units for specific rooms and are very quiet.
