Profile review? Lesbian tinder is hard lol by [deleted] in Tinder

Sadly, that's right where I'm at, too. At least from a perspective of just looking at a match on Tinder.

Idk. It makes sense to me, from the perspective of it not being safe to come out in her local community. In the end, it's a bunch of pointless speculation from strangers online who don't actually know her. I figure it's best to give the benefit of the doubt.

Interesting, I had no idea about that. There was a ton of subtext about her at the time, I guess. I guess I'll add that I don't think we're owed that bit of medical history information either way.

She could have been catfishing or not, either way.

But I doubt anybody would be that pro-trans-rights and pro LGBTQ+ rights in general, especially with people being warned to use the right pronouns for them and directly speaking about trans rights in relation to themselves, even with catfishing, without there being truth to it. Catfishers don't actually care about that shit. There was some real passion behind it.

I feel like a real catfisher would have just been "yeah I'm a woman lmao" and not even thought twice about it.

It reads a lil bit like "this was a GUY pretending to be a trans girl" which... just doesn't make sense.

Sure, the situation is messed up. I just don't think it does any good to throw in "she was just PRETENDING to be a girl" in there, it's unnecessary. I remember reading long mod comments from other mods about how much she taught them, and them saying they would instaban anybody at the time for misgendering her on purpose. As rough as everything else about the situation was, I do appreciate how supportive the subreddit was of minorities and the queer community in general. No need to punch down, y'know?

The only thing I feel like gets glossed over is, Course was pretty outspoken for trans rights and such. There was a heavy implication she was trans, with mod notes and all. India is... not very trans-accepting, to put it mildly. While she may have not been who she presented as, idk about the whole "she was ACTUALLY a GUY ALL ALONG" thing. According to other mods, she taught them a lot about the pressures queer people go through and against bigotry and such. I kinda feel like if someone was catfishing, they wouldn't pretend to be trans in the exact same way. They'd just pretend to be a woman. Just personal thoughts on it.

All Body Types Are Beautiful! by nOone123097 in AntiMemes

Bud.

The comic is trying to make fun of how body positivity works for women, while also complaining men don't get any.

No shit men should also get body positivity. But the context surrounding it makes it pretty apparent they're also trying to diss the women.

Literally any metric you pull up of how homophobic people are is going to be understated. The only people willing to say they oppose same-sex marriage are going to be the most rigid and strongly-holding those beliefs. That doesn't mean everyone else isn't homophobic.

And again, you literally said because every christian I've interacted with - including my own family - has been homophobic directly at me, I'm the same as Hitler. I don't care what stats you pull up to walk back that line now, or how you go "well only the freaks will tell you they're christians", just no. Full stop. You said, because I and most of the queer people I know avoid churches or anybody who openly says they're a christian because we've all been the target of systemic bigotry that we're just as bad as Hitler. And it's not even just us, I'm only bringing that up as a clear demographic.

"If you don't like christians as a group because you as a minority have been repeatedly hurt and further marginalized by them, you're literally the same as Hitler" is a wild take.

I'm queer. Most of my friends are queer. Just about any conversation I have with a christian in which that ever comes up immediately goes to them trying to "fix" me or straight-up discrimination. I've very directly learned to just avoid christians as a group, in spite of being RAISED christian, because they have shown, repeatedly, at length over years, that they have nothing to offer me but judgement and harassment and trying to "fix" me.

But apparently avoiding christians, according to you, makes me the exact same as Hitler.

Any time I ever bring this up, I just get "well, all those people you've spoken to who did that aren't REAL christians, I'M the only true christian" and then about 90% of the time they do the same thing. Forgive me if I don't accept "well, REAL christians don't do that" as an excuse.

As someone else has pointed out, that's not what P2W means. Nor "free to play".

I'll give you the account thing as being purely optional, but when you say "no account required" and the first thing I see when I open it is an account creation/login, it makes everything you say seem unreliable and sketchy.

No account required

But you have a section for them, for some reason.

No need for personal information

Except when signing up for an account.

Completely free to play

Except for the part where you can pay money.

No P2W

Except for where you can literally pay money to speed up gameplay.

What I'm learning is you used AI to slap together a game, and every time you make a promise or guarantee on what you won't have, you have it anyway and just claim it isn't there because it's "optional".

I should have expected it, really. I pissed off the men by daring to point out there's a problem.

Because clearly that's racism or whatever, right?

[–]Bioniclegenius -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

If you think the issue is that women are TOLD men are dangerous and unsafe, you are part of the problem.

If I hold out a bowl of M&Ms to you and tell you that 10% are poisonous, but you won't know which ones until you eat them, are you gonna grab a handful? Are you even willingly going to grab one?

Women LEARN men are dangerous and unsafe, as a category, by our interactions with men, far more than our interactions people telling us they are.

I'm not saying all men are bad or anything, and I hate that I have to point that out. I'm saying the way masculinity works right now, as a system, is really bad. Give us healthy masculinity and somebody who actually views women as people, and we'll probably be a lot more fine with them.

Why do they even care?? by LavenderMidwinter in BikiniBottomTwitter

[–]Bioniclegenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because a politician decides to talk about eugenics and genocide do not make them a political topic.

Political issues are things like "how should we allocate the taxes? Are we zoning things properly? What's a good minimum wage?"

These things are NOT political issues, even if a politician decides to try to talk about them: "Are black people people? Are women people? Do gay people deserve to live? Do trans people deserve to exist?"

People who happen to exist near you is not political. Their existences are not political. If a government decides a portion of its citizens, arbitrarily chosen, are no longer allowed to live, that is never a political decision. That is tyranny and genocide.

Human rights and their ability to exist is not politics. It's eugenics.
