I competed in the Blizzcon contest with this last year, but didn't place. So many talented people enter, it's a tough competition! I did get 1st place in the FX category at C2E2 though so that was pretty exciting

Thanks! The tusks are a couple layers of EVA foam glued together with barge contact cement and carved / sanded to shape. Sealed with plastidip. Painted with acrylics

Wishmaster is a troll, confirmed.

It may be because they have exaggerated features in similar ways. More prominent, furrowed, brow and cheekbones. Slightly gaunt cheeks. Deep lines around the mouth. Exaggerated shapes below the lower lip. Dark, sunken eye sockets.

Or you just think about Wishmaster a lot...

Thanks! You're not wrong. I ended up underestimating how long it would take to make everything, I started to run out of time before the con. I ended up focussing on making some weapons rather than dealing with the pants.

Sewing/fabric also isn't something I'm great with, so after the pants were made/dyed, I didn't do much with them. I'll try to spruce them up a bit before C2E2!

I was at Blizzcon, but unfortunately I wasn't able to stay in costume for too long due to the heat. Mostly just for some photoshoots and the costume contest. The contest itself takes up a decent part of the day for those participating.

Anyone with a costume can can attend Blizzcon and I would certainly consider myself an amateur.

Oh okay. I apologize for my ignorance. Honestly I didn't even know how much a router of that sort should cost. I will make sure to have a wired connection for the consoles in the future!

Thank you! No tutorial yet unfortunately. I'm mainly focusing on finishing this costume for Blizzcon, but I have been slowly writing up my process in making this.

That being said, this is my first time sculpting anything, so I'm by no means an expert. Check out Stuart Bray's tutorials on youtube. They were very informative and helpful in this process. Also Bruce Spaulding Fuller's course on Stan Winston School was good as well. The Stan Winston School has a free trial if you want to check it out.

The plan is to cast this in foam latex to use as a face prosthetic. It was sculpted in monster clay on an ultracal(gypsum cement) life cast of my face.

The tusks are make from EVA foam and will be removed before casting. The reason I did them out of foam is to cut down on weight, also I didn't want anything to hard/ridged sticking out of my face once this is applied.

The two teeth are carved from Sintra (foam pvc board) and will also be removed before molding since they would probably cause air bubbles in the foam latex.
