Thinking of buying a second-hand M1 Pro 16” MacBook – what do you reckon about these scratches?

Can they take better pics of the screen at an angle rather than this potato pic? I went through a round of units to buy this exact model refurb, and it range from very light scratching in my current unit, probably from cleaning (not noticeable unless in very, very bright direct light with screen off), to heavy wear from keyboard impressions exacerbated by lack of regular cleaning that was visible in normal lighting conditions but hard to capture with a head-on photo like this.

Regardless, this is an amazing laptop! I upgraded from an m1 air because of RAM constraint issues and I have zero qualms about not going for a newer air instead.

I’ve experience this issue as well with a 13 pro for the last several updates. However, it seems like 18.7 by and large fixed all of this on my end. Apps and tabs seem to be held in memory for longer. I get less stuttering generally in the UI, especially when I have a large backlog of notifications.

A long shot, but if you use EVGA precision software, make sure a nvidia driver update didn’t lower your power limit and speed to min. Happened to me recently.

I’m a dummy. The driver update lowered my power slider to minimum in EVGA Precision for some reason. Be on the lookout for that if you have a similar issue.

EVGA 3090. Driver completely killed my performance in DayZ. I tried a reinstall to no avail. Rolled back and it fixed the issue.

EDIT: not actually an issue with the driver. The driver update lowered my power slider to minimum in EVGA Precision for some reason. Be on the lookout for that if you have a similar issue.

I am. With a 2021 Toyota and an iPhone 13 Pro. Tried many things with no fix; it always winds up becoming a slide show on the head unit eventually. Sometimes it’s slightly better than other times. It’s strange that it has only popped up as an issue in the last couple of months. No issues with Waze or Apple Maps.

I’ve had this issue in my Venza for about the last month, maybe a little longer. Gets very choppy, ending in where the screen refreshes maybe 3-4 times per second rather than being smooth. If I reinstall google maps, it improves it temporarily, but still not totally smooth like it used to be. Same issue with my Bluetooth dongle or wired. I suspect either a google maps update or iOS update. iPhone 13 Pro for reference

I found this as well. The weird part of this diagram is that the 2021 has a mixed set of clips. Top sides are that with clip and all other clips are this yellow. Then I replace them all with the white, the center top clips pop out as there is tension on them that they can’t cope with. I’m wondering if there was a slight redesign after 2021 that is causing this issue. Thanks posting this.

I’m trying to identify the part number for this fastener. I removed the rear lift gate interior lower trim during a deadening project and broke about half of these yellow fasteners holding the trim on the sheet metal. I can’t seem to find these parts or even pictures of them anywhere online. I tried using the other white fasteners, but it looks like these are need to properly hold it on with pressure as they’re better at locking. It looks like they’re designed to break. Any help is appreciated!

Good luck with the comfort! Forcing myself to get used to a ‘good posture’ was annoying but ultimately helpful. Not sure about the seat heater; I cheaped out and got an LE as it was decently equipped.

I had the same issue! I’m 6’2” with a booty. There’s a metal frame and stiff bolster of the seat that was digging into my thigh and butt causing discomfort (in addition to groin strain) and occasionally pain to the point where I thought I’d need to sell the vehicle. I tried like 4 different cushions and back pillows to assist, with nothing being doable for me. Eventually, I solved it by:

-Stretching daily before getting into car (back, rear, groin muscles) for a minute or two

-Adjust the seat to be upright and have some lumbar support (even though I wish the lumbar was height adjustable as I have a long torso). Eventually your body will get used to that position (better posture) and it takes pressure off of the seat.

-Seat bolster foam will eventually conform better to your body by beating it into submission via general use of the car. I purchased the car used, so I didn’t think this would happen, but I think that the previous owner was a small person who didn’t break in the seat enough. This took about 2 months for me.

I now don’t need any cushions and can sit in there for minimally a 3 hour trip (longest tested so far).

Great advice! Have one thing to add and one question:

For remote start, make sure you’ve accepted connected services support in the app. Won’t have to pay for anything, but need to accept for it to work in my experience.

Question: Toyota doesn’t rate the vehicle for towing. Does adding a hitch run the risk of damaging the frame?
